You are the extreme one not me.  And it is the coaching staff taking what they are given and making the most of it. Whether on offense or defense. Both McDermott and Shula head up a great group of coaches who have done a terrific job with arguably average talent. Gettleman gets all the credit for finding Oher when Matso deserves the credit. The only time Oher has done well is when Matso coaches him. We have one of the best coaching staffs in the NFL and we have huddle people like you who  don't even acknowledge it.

That is one big reason people don't think we are good. They look at our talent based on what they have done elsewhere and say we don't have good talent. The truth is our players and coaches are just maximizing their potential.

You're completely irrational, carry on.

Actually, I've heard everyone praising Cam Newton and Jonathan Stewart for our offensive success. You do realize that Shula has gone more no-huddle this year right? You obviously don't understand what that means for the offense, or you'd know that it mean's Cam is the one that chooses the play at the LOS. Bark all you want about how they're still Shula designed plays, but where before Cam was forced to make do with a lackluster playcall, now he can choose situationally what play fits best. In other words, Shula has less control over this offense than ever and NOW we are scoring more points.

Have to jump in here.  We have gone more huddle this year because Cam has mastered this offense.  He knows it like the back of his hand.  This offense is incredibly complex from all accounts, so that's no mean feat for Cam.  That said, it takes time for a player coming out of college to adjust to the pro game.  In the past most QB's sat the bench and learned the offense and eventually get a shot.  Cam had to do it from day one.  But he didn't master it from day one.  Nobody could.  And it's not just about learning the plays to get where Cam is right now.  It's about learning what works against what defense you're seeing.  That takes time to learn.  Cam had to earn the team's trust to be able to do the things he's doing right now, and he's done that.     This doesn't mean that Shula has less control over this offense.  This means that Cam has mastered the offense so thoroughly he is trusted to make decisions based on what he sees.  Which is great for us.  Because in the past a play is called based on what defense you expect to see.  But sometimes the defense throws something else at you and Cam know's what play to go to in most circumstances.

This shouldn't really even be about Cam versus Shula. This should be more about how both have empowered the other to succeed.

It's so weird Cam broke virtually every rookie record on the books under Chudzinski.

I'm just glad he's finally learned to run Shula's advanced calculus offense.

Yeah us.

If Chud was a stud, instead of a dud, he'd still be here.

Yes, Cam had a great season...but don't forget how awesome our O-line was and how little the league knew about how dangerous Cam was and is.

Cam had the element of surprise and man did he ball-out. And yes, he's still balling. How crazy would it be to win SB and come back next year with KB and all the gang back?

im not sure we really have to lose anyone this offseason, regardless of the ridiculous salaries of CJ$, Stewart, Kalil and Norman.

Even at 29, I still think $CJ can have another Pro Bowl season left in him and you can't discount the great season Stew's having...he's looking like Frank Gore in his prime and his tires have been so seldom my used, even at his age, he could still have a couple of his prime still ahead of him.

We're breaking all kinds of franchise records this year offensively, with arguably lesser talent.

And btw, Chud had a complicated offense too.  But you didn't see Cam calling audibles.

And I seem to remember some posters complaining about Chud too, lol.  This board gets ridiculous.

Chud's OL schemes were just obnoxious. I mean...zone blocking? What the heck is that anyway?

i agree Chud had his problems too. the common denominator for our offensive success since 2011 has been the QB position and not the OL or the OC or the skill players. Cam has carried this offense since day one, regardless of who's been around him. kinda flies in the face of all those who try to claim that Cam doesnt make the people around him look better than they may actually be.

not disagreeing with you guys at all. just adding to your conversation. lol
