Panther Talk

Did anyone hear the end of Panther Talk on Monday night? I just listened to the podcast and the end of it cracked me up. Mick Mixon was pleading with the fans not to boo Jake because he needed our support right now. Jim Szoke chimed in and said he grew up in Cleveland and they wouldn't boo one of their own because they are like family. I think after 11 turnovers in 2 games the Dawgpound would let the QB hear about it.

sThere is a big difference with Soke and Mixon.

They get paid to be at the game.

Fans PAY to be at the game.

They should be glad the fans are booing becuse that means they still give a rat's ass.

When the booing stops, people won't care anymore what the Panthers do and they

won't have to worry about the PR image of people booing, no one will be there.

Change will happen then, just like it did with Seifert...no one in the stands..no concession sales, you know .... pocketbook impact to the owner makes many changes possible.

The whole offense deserved to be booed on Sunday, Jake especially. What are fans supposed to do when they see pretty much the same awful game eight months apart? If the Arizona game hadn't happened, then the fans would probably have been a bit kinder, but when the same exact garbage happens, it becomes obvious the team did nothing to improve its game plan and execution (to use a Fox word) over the long offseason.

Guys you do realise that booing him will only make matters worse? It's not like he simply is not trying. Fact is he is a stand up guy and one we should be proud that he played for us.

Should he be our starting QB? No.

Will giving him support help him get back some confidence? Yes

Will him having more confidence lead to more wins? More than likely.

You can dislike the guy, or not want him playing, but do not affect the team by booing him. That's just hurting the team that you support...

No offence; but how many millions does Delhomme make? ...and Fox?

To do what?

There is a price to be paid for that....they can be glad for two things:

1. this team is not playing at home again until Oct 12th.

2. they don't play in Philly, NY, or Chicago...a big media city....they would know what booing was then.

from pee-wee to College no. on booing....pro athletes whose job it is to play QB, be a head coach and know when to set someone down...an O-coordinator who should know the plays to call to beat a blitz...and it ain't 50 yard, 7 step bombs.

That, is a whole different story.

What does it achieve though?

Do you feel better? Not really cause the team is playing like crap.

Does it make them play better? Nope.

I uderstand you need to vent your frustrations, but why give the team you support the complete opposite?

It's something I do not get, get frustrated a mistakes, sigh, moan, shout, whatever. Making a concerted effort to bring down a player consistently is another thing altogether.

No point in bringing up the money. That has no baring on it at all. Why would money make a jot of difference on you supporting a team?

Urrymonster - I couldn't agree with you anymore.

I don't care what each guy makes.

If you make a pic of Jake saying I will throw int for food, You are simply a tool.

Get a life. Better yet, become a Falcon fan and make sure to wear a #7 Jersey.

If you don't like the direction of the team, tough.

If you think being an A*S will help then you are wrong.

Remember this,

What other team in the NFC south has won 11 or more games 3 times in the last 7 seasons.

What other team in the NFC south has been to the playoffs 3 times in the last 7 years.

What other team in the NFC south has won 5 playoff games in the last 7 years.

Remember what Panther football was before Fox / Hurney came to town.

Does 1-15 ring a bell.

I was at the game Sunday, and I couldnt boo Jake. As much as I wanted to I didn't because I knew that no matter what, he was our starting QB. I just looked at everyone while they boo-ed him. I almost felt like I wished I didnt come to the game because of it.

Jake gives us the best chance to win with what we have. Now whether or not he will win enough to get us to the playoffs this year is another story. But I would be willing to bet he can get us more wins than McCown, Moore, or Feely.

Lets take care of this next off season and give the guy some support and try to help him build his confidence back.
