Gettleman is a genius

Posted this in another tread. This is propably a more correct thread;

They were clearly locked in on getting some CB's in round 2-3. From BBR;

"According to Gettleman, after Baylor's Xavien Howard, Clemson's Mackensie Alexander, Maryland's Sean Davis and Alabama's Cyrus Jones went in the second round, the next two corners on the Panthers' board were James Bradberry and Daryl Worley. In a span of 16 picks, Gettleman grabbed both."

If we assume that the 1st round CBs also were graded higher on Panthers board, the Panthers then had Worley and Bradberry as their 10th and 11th CB in the draft, after Ramsey, Hargreaves, Apple, Alexander, Jackson III, Burns (propably), Howard, Davis and Jones.

Not to mention we've been balling out with low-round talent.  These are the highest-rated CBs we've drafted under Getts IIRC.

Correct. It's also the highest we've drafted any CB since 2008 3rd rounder Charles Godfrey (his original position, before we converted him to Safety when he sucked at corner), 2006 2nd rounder Richard Marshall, and 2004 1st rounder Chris Gamble, who coincidentally announced the Bradberry pick.

We've neglected the Corner position for a loooooooooong time.

Gettleman stated specifically in the press conference that there were only 4 corners ahead of the two we took.

Watched the presser now. He may refer to the 2nd round when he states that there were 4 corners ahead on the board, no way of telling. That's my belief anyway, since I believe there were more than 4 corners from those I mentioned that should have been graded ahead of the to we picked.

In fact, he must have referred to the second round, since he specifically said "ones the four corners were gone", given the fact that there were four corners draftet in the second round before panthers second round pick. There were five corners taken in the first, so he obviously referred to the second round, and therefore there were four corners ahead of "ours" on the board ones the second round started.

Bradberry & Worley therefore must have been the approx. the 10-11 graded corners on the board

Ginn 749 yards 10 tds

Brown 447 yards 4 tds I beg to differ....

How does a total yardage number have anything to do with what routes they run? Anyways Funchess is also below Brown on the depth chart also. Brown is 2.

You know a good way to find out instead of using stats? Watch the game.

Think about it again sport. "Once the four corners were gone" was referring to the 4 corners he had graded above Bradberry that had been taken in the entire draft.

Everyone here knows I love me some Philly, but I will say I want Funch and KB starting this year with Ginn/Philly splitting time in sub packages. That being said, technically Philly played the most snaps for us at wideout last year and started most of the games he was healthy. He and Ginn were very clearly the top 2 on the depth chart last year. I hope that changes this year as it should with KB back and Funch developing but as of right now Philly is top 3 on the depth chart, if not top 2.
