I think Gettleman learned a lot about the value of DBs last season.

Both the emergence of Josh Norman and what he meant to our defense, and the injuries of Bene and Peanut and us having to sign some guys of the street.

I think those two factors are what caused us to double dip at DB, and both are long armed, big bodied ball hawks that excell at off coverages and reading the QBs (Kendall Fuller is more of a press guy than these two, and doesn't fit our scheme as well as them. But hey, it's a name you know WHY DIDN'T GETTLEMAN PICK HIM AND DRAFT THESE UDFA???????)

Having young, talented depth at DB behind our amazing front 7 instead of JAGs like Finnegan and McClain and god forbid, Teddy Williams. Bene, Boykin, Bradberry and Worley are much better than any DB not named Norman last year for us. And in a league where 4 wide is used more and more often each and every year, 4 talented DBs are needed. And in a divison with such amazing WRs, it's even more of a necessity.

Plus the saints cockblocked us twice, so fug them.

Anyway, Theives Avenue got two more Josh/Bene caliber players, and don't be surprised if we go Pharoh Cooper, Devontae Booker, or JErell Adams in the 5th. I'm personally hoping for Geronimo Allison out of Illinois, though. Reminds me a lot of Gettis pre inujry. That'll be fun.

Cash could be on our Radar too.

Add to it the fact that our assessment of a player isn't based on media's assessment.  You think GMan is paying attention to what the media thinks?  Raw talent does not equal success in a team's system.  A 1st rounder to some, may be a mid-2d rounder to others.

Please everyone remember this forever.

Remember when Revis went to the Bucs and we all poo'd our diapers but he sucked because he can' play a cover 2 system very well?

Life isn't Madden, everyone.

The 'experts' thought Seattle wasted a 3rd round pick on Russell Wilson 4 years ago, and the same bunch decided Tom Brady would never be a decent NFL QB. And how many 1st round 'can't miss' guys have been flops? Evaluating how well college players will do in the NFL is far from an exact science.

Another thing to keep in mind, this draft has been so poo in just pure talent reaches for schemes have been happening everywhere.

Falcons drafted Dion Jones at 52, despite being considered a 3rd round pick (and also Neal at 17, despite being considered a late 1st/Early 2nd)

Patriots took Cyrus Jones at 60, despite him being considered a 4th-5th round pick.

Broncos took Adam Gotis at 63, considered a 4th rounder.

Chargers took Max Tuerk at 66 who was projected to go a round or two later coming off an ACL tear.

Cardinals took an actual 6th-7th round CB at 92.

Patriots took UDFA prospect DT Vincent Valentine 4 picks later. IDK if Belicchick is a Final Fantasy fan or not.

This draft after the Top 60 is pretty much "Who fits our scheme." and even then some of these picks aren't as egregious reaches as our. Bradberry was projected to be a 3rd rounder by many, and Worley was considered a 3rd as well, though more likely a bottom of the third type of pick.

Pie for the bolded part.

Cardinals draft and our draft are about the same.  They just got one fewer CB.  And actually needed a player like Nkemdiche.
