Contract negotiations with Kurt Coleman

Pay that man! DG has shored up the O-line, D-line, WR, and LB, now it's time for the secondary. I can't remember the last time the Panthers had a certified Safety. Up until Josh there wasn't really anybody at CB either. So DG is finally taking the time to address the secondary. First through the draft and the next step should be to extend Coleman.

Don't know what will happen on Coleman's contract but if you multiply 3  million times 53 players our salary cap would have to be 159 million.

Every body cannot make 15 mil a year.  Some of these folks need to calm down and see reality because every one has the same amount and sure wouldn't take long to be back in Salary Cap Hell!!!

Some food for thought. Kurt Coleman was listed in the top ten here, whatever that is worth.

I would have him even higher on the list if we just talking 2015. But since he broke out last year but previously was a JAG he doesnt have the reputation and resume of many above him. I would give him a 4 year deal for 24,000,000 with the first 2 years guaranteed and a signing bonus of 10 million. That is great money and he would take it. Not sure how his agent feels though. Coleman knows that he is built for this system and it maximized his skills. I bet he would sign for a reasonable contract.

The premise that everyone can't make 15 million has nothing to with reality. We have 1 player who does and that is Cam.  Coleman might get a third of that and deserves every penny.  Our defense needs a big time strong safety much like Jim Johnson and Philly had in Brian Dawkins. Coleman may still be a poor man's version of Dawkins but he is a critical piece of the team and one of the most important pieces in the secondary

That's where I get the contract numbers, but I don't think they let you plug in future numbers. Maybe there's a site that does that. It's easy enough to copy paste each year and do a lookup into a main worksheet for all players and years and then plug in estimated contracts.

Spotrac has a manage the roster feature.  I've not really played with it, but I think you can plug in future numbers
