You do realize Hurney hit on his picks as much as he missed on them in the second round, right?

this is 100% absolutely wrong.

these are hurney's second round picks:

deshaun foster

bruce nelson

keary colbert

eric shelton

richard marshall

dwayne jarrett

ryan kalil

everette brown

sherrod martin

jimmy clausen

the pick used to get armanti edwards

the aforementioned amini

no, that is not as many "hits" as "misses".  that's insane.

Yes, in the second round he had a run of bad ones, but he also had a run of good ones while heading up the draft - including Ryan Kalil. Silatolu started 28 of 33 games for the Panthers. His issue has been with injuries, and the Panthers kept him for his entire rookie contract. I would not be the least bit surprised to see him turn out like Evan Mathis or Gary Barnidge. So, if you believe Evan Mathis to be a terrible pick too, then I agree with your reasoning.

I can't think of any good second round draft picks from Marty.

Amini was a reach at the time and despite his injuries was pretty average.

from what i'm looking at ryan kalil was the only second round pick of his that was a long term high quality starter

there were some guys like colbert, foster, richard marshall, and even sherrod martin that flashed for a season or two or had a few big games.  actually that's somewhat unfair to marshall who had a pretty solid career.  wow, that's two good picks in the second round!

then there's the amini tier where hurney fanboys think some backup-quality player is amazing.  then there's the jarrett, clausen, shelton, everette brown, trading a second for armanti edwards tier which is a hell of a lot more crowded than the ryan kalil tier i'm noticing.

Yes Kalil was an excellent second round pick. I believe we picked DWI Jarrett in the same second round. Talk about a huge hit and a huge miss.

Kalil was obviously an excellent choice but there's not much else there. Foster was solid but that is a horrible list of players.
