Whoever the (new) coach is next season...

Next season, whoever the (new) coach is next year faces/needs:

1) FACES: Another Julius Peppers quagmire off-season'

2) FACES: 1 WR worth a dam on the roster.

-- Smitty still has game.

-- Moose is another year older and needs to go

-- Jarrett is a friggin' waste. In his 3rd season he can't beat out Moose...or contribute. Colbert at least had 1 good season before $ucking! No more Pete Carroll reject WRs!

3) NEEDS: A need for 2 (TWO) QUALTY Defensive Ends

-- JP isn't worth the money/draft picks/FA pick-ups we missed out on

- Our 2010 1st Rnd Draft Pick is under-sized /got 'stoned' today. He is a situational pass rusher, and paying next year's 1st round draft pick for him was STUPID!

4) NEEDS: A QB

-- Jake telegraphs his throws, zeroes in on Smitty, and I'm not even sure he knows there are other WRs on the team most times anymore. 30+ yo, Tommy Johns Sugery, 12 turnovers in the last 3 games, relied on Smitty pulling miracles out of his bum.

5) NEED another DT and more depth

yes! nothing like another fan to give up and then decide exactly what we need to do next season. Thank you, kind sir, for figuring it all out. Check back in on the team and us poor saps after next offseason.

also, fresh new opinion on the "Jake stares down blahblahblah". 15 targets went to Smith. He threw 41 times. That's a lot of throws to no one else given that there was a total of 9 different players targeted - literally every possible receiver other than Hoover (who got hurt) and Barnidge (who was 3rd string TE).

But maybe it'd make you feel better to trot Barnidge out there with the game on the line than have Jake see Smith one on one with a guy he'd beaten 8 times already, and should've beaten again.

2010 draft will be full of QB. could b one of the best in years, and we will be absolute dumb not to go after one. the jets made a gamble and gave up most of their draft for a Qb, and we see how that turned out. of course, they were also active in free agency. I agree 100% on Peppers. if we cant get him a deal long term that is cap friendly then trade him, or let him go. we cannot take the hit again next year. isn't it sad that we are already looking to next year?

    • They will be if they extend Young but I don't think we're there just yet. Morgan and Canales are tied and I don't believe Tepper is going to go look for a new front office for Bryce as things stand.
    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
