Hey

So 0-2 and a team who is playing soft and with no defense. What is you going to do if?

Well i am leaning towards the blaming it on Hurney/Fox combo but instead of screaming FIRE FOX two games into the season I decided to look on the future if/when we get a new HC and GM. I know its sad to have to look 14 games ahead but I would rather do that than look on those two shitty games already played.

But were are the Panthers roster wise?

QB - Nothing. This area would be the very first thing a new regime would look at. We need some young talent here.

RB - Though Williams contract is running out we have some fantastic RB´s on the roster. No worries here for years to come. Stewart need to keep himself healthy though.

FB - Hoover is close to done but is replacement is already on the team.

WR - Steve is getting up there but may have 2-3 years minimum back. Moose on the other hand - not so much. Moore has talent so does Jarrett but none of them have showed it in games. We would need some help here.

TE - We have three young talents on the team. King can block and Rosario and Barnidge can catch. A new coach might want a two way TE.

O-Line - We have a young talented starting group and they are all on long term contracts. Kalil would need a new in a couple of year. We also have some young guys waiting to might be the new Hangartner. A new coach and QB would love to start out with this O-line.

D-Line - We have a monster hole on DT. Kemo could be done here and Lewis is not starting caliber. Not in a 4-3 not in a 3-4. We have some young talented DE´s ind Brown, Johnson and Taylor. All of them could play standing up in a 3-4. Peppers might be used to kickstart a new regime i regards of trade for picks if we tag him again. Brayton could play end in a 3-4 but other than him I cant really see someone. Leonard have some experience here and Harris looked good with Steelers in camp. The Line needs some work.

LB. We have LBérs to play both 3-4 and 4-3 and do it very well. Connor and Beason inside would actually make a lot of sense.

S - We have some talent but not any elite.

CB - Gamble would work but the man is just so damn stupid we would need a season or two just to learn a new PB just see him right know. Munnerlyn, Marshall and Martin might work but we could need some help here.

This is not so bad as people make it out to be. We have a lot of talent one this team and all that the window is closing is nonsens. Fox is about to close it but the talent on this team are not.

I think we must realize that the Fox train has reach the station and if we want to go further we need to change train while we still have the roster to make the change hurt as little a possible.

This is not a Fire fox or hire Cowher thread but just a look into the 8 ball and see what the future could look like and according to me should :)

The sky is still (Panther)blue and if we do the right things it will stay that way for a long time.

Go Panthers.

Sorry for spelling etc. I am from Denmark..

Need to start w/ the defense, especially the Dline and secondary!Delhomme is gauranteed 20 mil, minus well use him another couple seasons,as long as he doesn't keep having meltdowns. He is a good game manager when he keeps his emotions in check,;need to get a successor to challenge him and eventually take over,is Matt Moore the guy, maybe a QB in the draft?D williams must be resigned to a new contract as long as it's not too expensive!I'm not so sure about only having Stewart(injury-prone)and Goodson(fumbles)!Of course, find a way to trade Peppers or just let him walk,he's not worth all that $$!!

    • Thielen was a "dawg" like Dan Morgan likes to say. And they replaced him with puppies.  The analytics are probably saying this is more targets for younger receivers they are hoping to develop, specifically the first round pick from 2025. The eye test is going to show a very inexperienced group of WRs that are going to have some serious growing pains, for a 3rd year QB who has not yet proven to be the guy going forward.  It's crazy how in the literal first game of his NFL career, Cam Newton showed everyone he was a star QB and there was never any doubt about that. It almost didn't even matter who was around him, although he definitely had a serious lack of talent at WR for most of his career. Bryce is going into his third season and there is still a ton of doubt, and who is around him is seen as crucial for him to have success. I don't like it.
    • Everyone says AT was old and slow but the one thing he could do consistently was get separation. That takes skill and it's been a huge issue in our WR for years. And while Moore may be a great locker room guy and our WR coach may be a 12 year vet, he's not playing in the game. Vets like AT do what they do because they can see things others don't and exploit it. The DB interview I mentioned before was with Stephon Gilmore after his DPOY season. He was pulling the younger DBs aside showing them things you wouldn't even think you'd be able to tell from the way the receiver was standing.  Seeing what a DB or LB is biting on in game that can give you that half step advantage is huge and we don't have that experience in our WR group right now and I think it could end up hurting us. None of our receivers have lined up against NFL corners successfully on a regular basis. Having someone that can walk over and give you a tip to get a half yard separation can be a difference maker.
    • We only fielded about 4 NFL calibre players on that unit last year.
