Look, it is easy to figure out why Ted Ginn is a starter here and why he is on the field for so many snaps. Ever single time he runs a go route, he drags a cornerback AND a safety down the field and out of the play. He is so darned fast that if he gets that step, he is gone. And even if he only catches one out of three of those passes, any single one of them can be a touchdown.

As a starter, you make the other team game plan for that in their base defense rather than just create a sub package to take him into account. Whether Ginn gets the pass thrown to him or not, he takes both the cover man and the over the top support out of the play once he even looks like he is going to turn the jets on.

We've got other great receivers, but none of them can do that except for him.

I like to call him Ginn the Redeemer. Because he only gets one foot in bounds or the ball bounces away from him on the kick.... but then he catches a 52 yarder and takes a kick 60 yards. He redeems himself despite all the times he shits the bed.
