The refs just don't like Cam..

I really don't think it was a horse collar if it's the play I'm thinking about - he grabbed the back of his jersey and pulled him down by it but he did not get his hands inside his shoulder pads.  You can tackle by grabbing the jersey there - it's when you get inside the shoulder pads that it becomes a horse collar.

Maybe I'm thinking about the wrong play though, who knows.

Horse collar rule was changed this year. Any jersey grabbing name plate and above is a horse collar according to the rule this year. Im thinking their is some sort of exclusion to that rule about QB's in pocket but I'm not sure. The officiating in general today was trash. From running into andy lee twice, to tackling cam by the head for the safety, the questionable holding calls, and what annoyed me most was the constant bad spots. I mean off by at least a yard

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
