so why the hell did he get 11 carries? why wasn't he more involved in the offense. the play calling was not creative, we finally got a few calls to pass to the running back after the game was already out of hand. i just cannot understand why these things happen. im tired of watching this team piss away changes to win over BS. it makes no sense. anyone see Dante Rosario in the second half?

the panthers abandon anything that works, you know....like running with the second best back in the league or blitzing romo with a LB!!! not a safety or throwing to your TE who just scored!!!.....its sucks to say but every loss is getting easier to stomach, I was nearly in tears after the eagles game, now its really no big deal, why should we care if the team doesn't...

That is definately true, but Dallas ran draw plays all night... What was dissappointing was that simple fact that DeAngelo or Stewart can't get a rythym or feel for the game. I don't know if I've ever seen DeAngelo, since he's been in the NFL, run the ball 3 times in a row. The play prior to Jake's 2nd interception DeAngelo ran for 11 yards. They promptly threw the next play. They forgot who is their quarterback in this game. His performance against the Falcons and 1st half tonight gave the coaching staff a false sense of security. They were only down 6 at the time, and they didn't need to throw the ball. They could have atleast tried to feature DeAngelo. When it comes down to it, Carolina is predictable. You can tell by their formation when they are going to run. They only ran one play on the perimeter(a sweep). They tried to pound Dallas up the middle all night. There was no misdirection run plays or anything creative. It is kind of sad really. They are absolutely wasting DeAngelo's talent. No screens or anything.

And poor Jonathan Stewart only had 3 carries, because Jake couldn't convert 3rd downs and extend drives. He has poor pocket awareness and pocket mobility. You can say Steve Smith broke off the route, but Jake was predetermined with his throw. He is part of the problem. Period... The other part is the coaching staff, and John Fox dinosour beliefs. The Giants want to run the ball, but they are dynamic in the passing game. The Panthers will never be dynamic because Jake has poor everything: Footwork, pocket awareness, field awareness, mobility, decision making, hell you name it.

For all of you saying it wasn't his fault tonight, you are missing the big picture. He can't win games for you. When turnovers happen and you have to throw the ball to stay in the game, he isn't the trigger man to do it. It is easy to just try and run the ball and hide your quarterback, but you need a guy to make plays in the pocket when things aren't perfect. You need a guy who doesn't fumble everytime he takes a blind side sack. You need a guy who can make plays from the pocket in the face of a blitz. Everything has to be perfect for Jake to succeed. Pass protection, running game, etc., so you can hide his flaws. You can't coach that way in this league. You need a dependable leader as a quaterback and Jake Delhomme isn't it. It's been time for him to go, but it is too late now. I think Fox has lost the majority of the team anyway.

    • So he became GM and decided not to address the weakness in the QB room following one of the worst rookie QB performances in NFL history?  There were options last season other than signing Dalton to a 2 year deal. Brissett and Jones by a wide margin, both of whom outplayed Bryce, Wilson, Winston, hell even Rivers off the couch was more exciting at the QB position. The time to address the failure in the QB room was last year but instead people on the Huddle cheered when we brought Dalton back then cheered when we were able to get anything for him after they finally realized he was washed up like a few of had been saying all along and got poo'd for even mentioning.  This year, the options were more limited obviously, especially since we lost Icky. It changed the dynamic of our draft. I think we were stuck this year keeping Bryce, but i still think giving him a 5th year option for what has amounted to replacement worthy performance was the wrong move. Why guarantee 25m if you're planning to replace him? You think he's going to want to be a bridge QB? Hell no. He's going to want out and we'll end up cutting him if he has another lackluster season because no one is trading for him with that price tag.  Were there better options as far as production available. A couple. Were there guys available with more physical tools than Bryce, Pickett or Grier, you damn well better believe there were. I've been saying all along, you always keep looking for your 1b. Bryce has yet to prove he can be a starter. Keep looking for someone who may. Put competition in camp. Let the best QB lead the team. Stop settling for less than mediocre.
    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
