Teams becoming more comfortable with Joe Mixon, than Dalvin Cook

There is a video of Nixon punching a woman in the face, what other proof do you need? And if scouts  believe him more than Cook and they have their own investigators to investigate these draft picks, there is no reason to bring in either of these guys. If you don't know by 18 not to assault women who don't want to have sex against their will you don't deserve the NFL or much else. Scumbag entitled Aholes.

So, he's a scumbag for retaliating against a person that hit, and spit on him, and called him a racial slur?  Got it.  Luckily for me, none of my female family members would ever lay their hands on another human being.  So, I don't have to worry about retaliation to them.

@AceBoogie look man.  Mixon is a scumbag.  It doesn't matter that he's been a phenomenal citizen before and after the incident.  It doesn't matter that the female had three priors before hand, including having drugs on her.  It doesn't matter that she assaulted him first.  He's a scumbag.  #alternativefacts.

So it's OK to smash a girls face in on video but if you kneel in a nonviolent protest you get black balled?  The NFL, where outrage and morality are just slides on a marketing powerpoint presentation.

About Power; when you gotta use it against a woman, (now, I understand some women are freakishly strong... But we are talking NFL level players here....) are you really that strong?

so.lets say you insult a woman and she slaps you for insulting her. You think you have a right to punch her in the face breaking bones. Or do you think there are a bunch of woman who just assault big football players for no reason. Get real here you can get off for a bunch of technicalities or because of who you are or know. It doesn't mean you aren't guilty.

She actually broke her bones because she fell cheek first on a solid corner of a table.  I wouldn't punch her, at 18 I probably would've pushed her the f uck away from me.

I'm pretty sure assault is assault, no matter what language you speak, or country of origin you're on.  They're both in the wrong.

You could just treat her with respect and avoid the whole issue. But let's act like a scumbag and have to make up for it for years. I don't know why a big time football player needs to accost woman anyway unless they are entitled. Seems lots of woman would welcome their advances without assaulting folks who don't.

I'll be honest, don't know much about any of it. Drunk or high, you have to stay in control. I've had women attack me, (not in the good way, well, I mean yes in the good way... ;)) but in the hurting way, didn't hit her.

Yes, I'm going to treat a woman with respect that's clearly disrespecting me.  LOLZ, what?

Exactly. It is called taking the high road and treating people as you want to be treated instead of how you are being treated.  Didn't your parents teach you anything,?

LOL, I'm not going to treat a human being that treats me like dirt by spiting on me with any respect.  Like I stated, at 18 years old I would've mushed her or pushed her the fug away from me.  And again, both were in the wrong in this situation.  Both committed assault.  Simple as that.  It's called the law, sir.

True story. I have an identical twin brother and we both were going to ECU. I am sitting in class and a girl comes up and starts yelling at me for not talking to her and tries to smack me. I move away and calmly explain that I have never met her in my life and whatever her beef is to take it up with my brother. Of course she thought I was lying only to find out the truth later. I didn't assault her or even yell although I had every right.  That.my friend is called integrity and moral character.

Also told my brother to have better judgment in woman and let his acquaintances know about me if they see me on campus.

Are you really comparing your story to a drunk woman hitting a man and spitting on him?

First off, your story sucked.  No offense.  At least say you met Justin Timberlake, or found 20 dollars after.

Second off, you're comparing a situation in which a female you didn't know didn't hit you, and common sense would say explain to her what happened.

Third off, the Mixon situation is totally different.  He knew her, she escalated the incident with her friend, and lastly assaulted him first.  A little different of a story.

    • A winning record would be nice, but I still have us winning around the 6 to 8 game mark. Realistically we should beat the Jets and Saints, that gets us to 5 wins. After that, we have to face a lot of potential play off teams and our divisional opponents. I think we’ll win 1 or 2 of those games to take us to 6 or 7 wins, perhaps 8 wins if we can spring a further surprise.  Is that enough progress for head coach and QB? I’m not sure, it will depend on performances and output. That said, it’s nice to be back in a position where we are thinking about the play offs.
    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
