put gilbert @ 2.  If he ever plays and does well, teams will mortgage their future for him.  Works for NE.

Gilbert played fairly well throughout the preseason, but he's not ready to be a #2 QB yet. My hope is we can stash him on the practice squad and let him season for another year. Webb had moments when he played well and showed potential, but I think we're seeing his top end there. DA, man, this might be his last season. He can still read a defense and hand off a few times if Cam has to step out for a minute. If DA has to throw right now, though ... we now know what it feels like for other teams when the QB2 has to go in.
