Kicking choice is "a fluid process"

In my opinion Gano has 1 week to prove himself in real game action. If he fugs up, he needs to be released immediately

Thats nice and all, but if he's on the 53 for Week 1 his contract is essentially guaranteed and there would then be essentially zero *financial* benefit to cutting him.

Just like there was no benefit this year to cutting Lee.. I wonder if hurney knows that haha

The problem with Hurney is always the same.  No concept of how to manage the salary cap.  If Gano and Butker are basically the same skill level, why the hell do you keep Gano at $4 mil when you can have Butker at $.5 mil.  Its asinine.

So what if we can get a 7th rounder for him.  We can pick up 7th round talent off the street (or at least we used to be able to with Gman).

Your memory must be bad because Rivera most certainly took a stand.

"I would have taken a shot too."

Remember?

That statement gets a lot of play around here.  But Newton opened himself up by slowing down at the goal line.  The hit was legal.

Is the issue that Rivera voiced his opinion as a former linebacker in a goal line stand situation?  Every defensive player in NFL history would have "taken a shot".  It is their job.  If they simply waved at him as he walked into the endzone, I doubt they would have a job for long.

Newton even admitted he 'deserved it for taking his foot off the gas'.

So, like Rivera, you're one of those guys that feels that its better to be honest (Wife: "Am I getting fat?" You: "Yes, honey... yes, you are.") than discrete.

P.S. In addition to the fact that nobody asked Rivera whether or not he would have "taken a shot too"... he VOLUNTEERED that information when he could have just supported his QB who has sacrificed his body and head for years for Rivera.

Not really.  I think he was telling Cam to always finish the play.  Cam would not have been hit had he not slowed up.  Cam agreed.  You can't give guys that want to hurt you and get you out of the game free opportunities to do that.

When Cam makes a mistake like this, it not only hurts Cam but it hurts the team that counts on him.  Rivera was right to be pissed.  Cam is not perfect - and Rivera was just reminding him of that.  He was also saying 'everyone would have taken that opportunity to get him out of the game, even me'

And no, I would never volunteer my wife was getting fat.  Nothing positive could possibly come of that.

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
