1 catch by a TE today.

And Cam wasn’t the one who made the pass

I believe when Panthers TEs go over 50 yds + Panthers wins the game 80% of the time.

Its about ability to sustain drives and you have to utilize your TEs for the underneath passes.

Olsen is our #1 receiver as far as I'm concerned. KB is 2 and CMC is 3. Everybody else just gets in where the fit in. Olsen is our only reliable weapon on offense. You know he is gonna catch everything he touches. He may not get anything after the catch but he will fuging catch it.

We need to sign Barnidge or make a trade can't let this offense fail due to poor depth.

I stated on an earlier thread that Brees isn't playing with houshold names at the receiver positions and doesn't have  a stellar offensive line. Yet, he puts up 5,000 years seasons each year. He just a good QB who is able to get the best out of his receivers. It doesn't matter who is on the field. Brady is able to do the same thing. Cam hasn't reached that level yet and he's having trouble reading the field. He made some bad throws while totally overlooking open guys on several occasions. He's got to elevate his game, but I don't think he can with the current offensive coaches.

While I think you have a valid point, if you don't have your top TE adjustments need to be made.  You should still be able to sustain your drives if you can hit the slot guys or the guys coming out of the backfield. Brady won a super bowl last year without Gronkowski, the best TE in football when he's healthy.  Our offense has no ability to adjust when the defense keys onto Shulas tactics (which usually happens before halftime).

Even without Greg and KB we shouldn't have been beat that soundly at home by a team missing several starters on the defense.

You are talking about a QB who has perfected that system, Cam is coming of surgery with no chemistry due to lack of reps. We need to use the TEs just more than blocking Manhertz & Dickson needs to be involved in the passing game from the run formation. Gotta keep the defense guessing.

Wouldn't Cams lack of reps affect him just as much throwing to TE's as it would throwing to slot receivers and running backs. Frankly, I think the latter group has better hands and our more capable of making big plays than Manhertz or Dickson.

Still, I understand the point you are trying to make. We really could use a pass catching threat at TE in next year's draft.

TEs  are lot closer to Cam and have wide radius  that can make actual contested catches, so the reps wouldn't matter as much.

Need to utilize TEs & the slot guys so we can run more layered routes.
