Lions currently 2nd in the league in total interceptions and a top 10 defense against the run.  Their overall defensive yards allowed and pass yards allowed is mediocre though.

If we get Kalil and Samuel back somehow this week , that will make a gigantic difference.

Yes, it's going to be very interesting to see how we do running against them.

I'm quite excited for the match up.  It seems like it's the best game on the slate for the weekend.  Only two teams with winning records playing each other.  This will be another good test for the Panthers.  Playing a good team, on the road.  2nd away game in a row.  Early faceoff of likely (hopeful?) NFC playoff contenders...

Got a bump & some buzz & mojo from the win against the Pats.  Can they keep the momentum going and put together a nice streak of wins, play consistently?

That's what we're all waiting to see as well. Jarrad Davis may only be a rookie, but damned if he ins't the glue holding our run defense together. We were without him, and Tavon Wilson for the Atlanta game. Not having Wilson hurt because when he plays, it allows Miles Killebrew to be a roamer from the safety position. Killebrew is an excellent tackler with above average instincts. Run defense was marginally better against Minnesota because Wilson was back, so that freed up Killebrew to do his thing, but without Davis in the game, the LBs are almost a liability.

The secondary has been really good this year, and the d-line had created some decent pressure though that hasn't really translated to many sacks.

This game worries me more than any other of the season so far. Detroit has a solid defense with a good pass rush. And Matt Stafford is money in the 4th quarter.

If it wasn’t for a timely penalty, New England had sacked Cam Newton on third down and that game winning field goal never happens. The Panthers BARELY beat the Patriots and got a lot of help from uncharacteristically boneheaded moves from them. Don’t expect to win games with a -2 turnover differential every week.
