2011 New York Giants were 6-6 at the same point...and won the Super Bowl.

Well they won the superbowl so that argument is irrelevant. They had a good defense, they just committed turnovers. This Panthers team is like Swiss cheese vs the run. Not the same deal there.

So the fact that they were 6-6 with a good defense, and we're 8-4 with a good defense is irrelevant?  Why?  We've got a good defense even despite of today's outcome, but you guys are so short sighted that you can't accept that team's have bad days.  Like our team is the only team that has days like this.  I'm just trying to point out that even though we didn't play great today doesn't mean we won't during the playoffs...which we'll make btw.  You guys can go ahead and pack it in, but not me, and I doubt the team will either.

This is two weeks in a row they've given up 100+ yards rushing. That's not good Defense, you can sugar coat it any way you want. Last week Josh Mccown did whatever he wanted and this week Drew Brees didn't have to do too much but still did what he wanted. Next up ? Case Keenum who's playing as good as any QB

When was our last good defensive performance of the Year man? I'll answer that... The lowly Dolphins. One missed Julio Jones wide ass open catch away from oh snap another loss. C'mon man, open your eyes. It's not a good D this year.

That giants team had a real defense, and they caused turnovers. We have one of those defenses that looks good in the stat sheet i.e we don’t give up a lot of yards ... but if we can’t tackle and we cannot stop the run ... Our offense has to rely on college type gadget plays to move the ball ... That Giants team will whoop our butt.

So we don't have a good defense or offense...and you're surprised that we lost today?  Why?

The giants didn't have two offensive powerhouses in their division competing at a high level.

I hope this week is the toughest on coaches and everyone getting them prepared because it seemed like they were very unprepared or prepared for the wrong thing. We are banged up in an already depth lacking team but today I blame the scheme and play calling we went in with. One day we are gonna learn we can't play safe going against Atlanta and New Orleans.

I just looked at 2011 New York roster to say they had more talent but looking at it no.. not really. They had guys playing at high levels like JPP Justin Tuck and Victor Cruz but you could say we are more talented for sure. They started spreading their offense out in New York more while keeping a power ground game with Jacbos.. had a great pass rush and good coverage.

We lack safeties in open space and coverage. NFL WRs are better, the ones we play this year. We have to cover Julio, Mike Evans, Micheal Thomas, Alshon Jeffery, Jordy Nelson, Davonte Adams, Randall Cobb, Sanu, not to mention all the RBs that can do it all.

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
