So about the end of game kneel downs

Losing sucks, but you had 60 minutes to affect the game.

well technically the kneel downs happen within the 60 minutes, right?

So if it's a one possession game and you know if your defense can force a turnover, you still have a shot to either tie the game or win it, then I don't wholeheartedly disagree with defenders still making a valiant effort to get to the ball during kneel downs.

the number one thing coaches preach is playing 60 minutes of football, not 59. Of course, I don't agree with defenders going low trying to injure other players, but like other people have pointed out, they should incorporate some sort of rule where the offense has to at least move the ball past the line of scrimmage for the clock to continue to run, or else the clock stops.

I saw this happen yesterday too where the Patriots defense was still rushing Jay Cutler during his kneel down which resulted in two skirmishes on 1st and 2nd down. If this becomes a trend, the NFL will have to address it.

I think you missed what I said. Or maybe I worded it wrong

It would only apply in the final 2 minutes of the game if the score is within 8 points and the team leading has the ball. All the team has to do is move the ball past the line of scrimmage and the clock keeps moving. If the losing team has the ball and they get sacked then the clock keeps moving. It would only end up applying to maybe 10% of the games in the whole season, I doubt even that much.

Not saying it's the way to go, but I am saying kneeling in close games needs to be gotten rid of. Or at least don't start an uproar because players go crazy trying to force a fumble on a kneel. That's their only option.

I’m all about players trying to force fumbles when the other team kneels, although thats super unlikely, but whenever a player that has posession of the football (wr, qb, rb) goes down in bounds, the clock keeps rolling. I just don’t think basic rules of football like that should be tweaked in certain scenarios. It makes the game fake to me. Thats my opinion.

There's no point of doing the victory formation if the other team isn't going to try and cause a fumble. If the game is out of reach, just end the game. Why waste everyone's time? Why give the QB negative rushing yards? Just end it. If the game is an 8 point game, then yeah ... go for the fumble. Never works, but it's better than nothing.

    • Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game
    • I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
    • Certainly not going to miss his constant whiffs on sacks and tackles.
