It would be a reversal of their statements that they would only be interested in people with head coaching experience or longtime coordinators.

...or it could just be to satisfy the Rooney Rule.

Dave knows him so I'm sure it's a little more than just satisfying the Rooney rule.  Also Dave may be rubbing it in JR's face a little bit also.  I can't wait for the truth to come out about his release.

He'll probably be interviewed a lot due to the Rooney rule unfortunately, it's why the rule needs to go away as it's almost unfair to these coaches who are interviewed with no chance at the job.

If you were a black HC candidate, why would you want to bother wasting your time interviewing for the Giants or Raiders, when it seems they know who they want already?

I'd think the Lions will end up with either Patricia or McDaniels as their GM came over from NE last year.

Gettleman's response when asked about the Panthers in his press conference makes me feel pretty sure the full story  never will.

Yeah Dave will not say anything publicly but I suspect someone will eventually overhear a conversation about and leak it.
