Related: Jackson hasn't had an OC in Cleveland prior to now. He's been calling the plays himself.

Speculation has been that new GM John Dorsey may have forced Jackson to hire an OC as a condition of not firing him. Jackson, of course, denies this.

If that's the case I don't understand why some folks were clamoring for Hue to potentially replace Shula as our OC if both were canned.

Hue, unlike Shula, has solid resume and reputation as an OC.

In watching their games they had a good offense...they just shot themselves in the foot many times...they arent that far away from being a good team...i think in the draft they need to take their non qb first...if they want Barkley or even Chubb...niether will likely be there at #4 but a qb will be...

possible they will be there at 4. Gaints and the other team need a QB bad also.

I think when that's all Hue is doing, he's pretty good at it.  When he's doing that and making head coaching decisions, not so much.

But let's be real: Hue's personality would never have meshed with Ron Rivera.  Oil and water would mix before those two would.

I'd add that I don't think it's gonna be a problem anymore.  After his record in Cleveland, I seriously can't imagine anyone else ever offering Jackson another head coaching spot.  And I don't believe he'll survive in this one beyond next season (still amazed he survived this past one).
