All the pieces are lining up for a Peppers trade to New England

Tully Banta Cain, the only real pass rush from the outside for the New England Patriots, was just released after playing 60% of the defensive snaps on Sunday against the Titans.

Adalius Thomas, 2007's OTHER huge free agent acquisition, was benched Sunday due to performance reasons.

The only consistent starter is 95 year old Derrick Burgess who's anything but impressive.

It is now clear that the Tom Brady has rediscovered his rhythm, and the Patriots offense might be even better now with the addition of Edelman.

Peppers has mysteriously been playing far better these past two games...perhaps he was told that if he stepped it up, they could work out a trade?

so you explained how the Pats would benefit......now how why would Hurney/Fox trade considering they are looking at a 5 win season in the face and trading Peppers only will make the defense worse? I guess you are in the camp that thinks Fox will be employed here w/ a 4 or 5 win season? I mean w/o Pep you can't realistically say they would even have posted two wins....considering the defense was a key reason we barely beat two bottom dwellers.

the drop off from peppers wouldn't be as significant as many people here have convinced themselves it would be.

they won't be able to resign him this offseason and will get a 3rd if they're lucky

the patriots have a trillion draft picks, and his value is never going to be higher.

Tully Banta Cain is a good player, he's always hustling when i see him on the field. The guy has 3 sacks and makes 620,000$. Also, Tully has ties to NC, so I'm not sure why he wouldn't be packaged in the deal if this was going to happen.

Not sure why you cut a guy like that. Did he make a joke that Tom Brady or Randy Moss didn't like? Then they add a has been in Junior Seau.

They always keep winning though...

As CJ is far more consistent I would rather have him starting (at LDE) with Brown/Brayton (at RDE). Even if we only get the Raiders first (as it will be a top 8 pick) I would rip there arm off.

but you do acknowledge that this season....if they trade him it hurts the team to some degree now and the real benefit comes after this season. Why would Fox/Hurney be concerned about improving the situation for the next coach and almost ensuring they will be gone?

ok, then I can accept your reasoning if you think they are safe regardless....then your trade makes sense.

I don't think they are as safe. A 5 win season and odds are strong if you keep Fox the QB situation will still be Jake and then back to finding a backup "just in case" to groom for the future....leading to another doomed season. I think Richardson is gonna feel too much heat after this season to not make a move w/ a 5 or 6 win season given the roster of talent (not to mention the unCarolina type behavior that seems to be occuring in the lockerrom. Not saying that atmosphere is fully here yet....but signs are foreshadowing it)

I agree Fox and Hurney are not going anywhere as long as Peppers stays this year

Then JR you need to hurry up and trade him. So we can be rid of this embarrassment.

      You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.

      THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
