Hey Cats fans!! A Buffalo scouting report from the other side

Good post. Our ST's coverage is awful and the now-suspended Dante Wesley is our best special teamer. If we for whatever reason give the Bills a punt to return, there is a good chance that you will take it to the house.

Why was he suspended? And do you agree with the decision?

I haven't yet been in the Smack forum. It's sig/avatar jokes, primarily.

That also shows you how dumb some Bills fans are....Charlotte is HARDLY the stereotypical South. I have like six friends who work for BoA down there and they all love it.

Charlotte is known to buffalonians as their second city in the South. I have a lot of friends from Buffalo that live here. All great people.

There will be a strong contingent of them in attendance on Sunday. Be ready ;) Whether or not we suck, our fans always turn out. Our undyling loyalty with our hearts and wallets is the reason management has continued to screw us by underspending on front office staff for more than a decade :o

Good thread. Chears to OP.

As long as the Panthers don't make mistakes and create turnovers on offense we should win. The defense has been steadily improving and the front 7 should be able to contain the run and put pressure of the QB.

Thomas "the Ancient" Jones rushed from 210 yards against the Bills D, so if the sight of Double trouble doesn't put fear into the hearts of Bills fans, it should. I'm calling for another 100+-yard-each game for the duo, which will put us 100+ yards closer to a pair of 1000 yard backs!

You'll need to throw a lot more than that if you want to ring up yards like the Jets did.

Part of the reason teams have been successful as of late running on us is that the threat of the pass is still there.....preventing us thus far from stacking the line with eight or nine people. For how poorly we defended the run, we still only played with seven in the box since the Jets called over 30 passes....and the Browns almost 30 the week before.

I think if it becomes apparent that the Panthers have no intention of throwing, the Bills will drop that eighth and ninth man into the box to stop the run. No matter how great your line and backs are, nobody can run well against that kind of front consistently.

The last drive of the game last week Tampa didn't just have 9 in the box, they had 9 on the line of scrimmage. And they got ran all over. Our entire offense is built to run, even to a fault. If you say the Bills' run D is weak on the edges then I expect Williams to have a massive game.

I'm very confident about this game but, as has been said, it will come down to turnovers and ST.

I'm thinking this game will be the time of possession win this team has been searching for all year. I looked to this year to be the one where field position, time of possession and ball control would help this team stay close to the elite clubs in the NFL. Reality has been a cruel mistress for now. The special teams (Kasay excluded) play has been terrible and we all know about the turnovers. I think Lloyd is an asset, but they all need to reach the end zone when it's close. This team can control the clock and it has shown flashes of the kind of drives it takes to control a game. It's time to shore up the turnovers and return coverage. There was a bad problem with false starts early last year and that was improved upon. There may not be much of a chance to match the Saints or Falcons from here forward, but there is a great opportunity to improve the team.

Good post!

You may not have to worry much about our special teams unit, as it has been very disappointing so far this season. Also, Roscoe was inactive for the last game, so he may be for this game as well. Fred Jackson should be the return man if this is the case.

Seeing as how what is said in the Smack forum should stay there, I'd just like to wish you guys luck this weekend! Hope it's a great game with no injuries for both teams!

    • As far as elite/elevate talent QB’s It’s Allen Mahomes Jackson and Burrow that’s it.  Then we have tiers and those can be debated all day Dak is a good QB but I know this board would want him out of Charlotte if he was the QB here. 2 playoff wins in 10 years. Justin Herbert no playoff wins. Threw 4 interceptions in last years playoff game. 23 TD passes last year. 20 the year below and 25 the year before that. This board loves stats without context and these stats aren’t saying they’re much above complimentary  Kyler Murray isn’t good. I’m not sure how he made this list.  Caleb Williams, Trevor Lawrence both benefiting from some real good offensive coaches right now. They’re both complimentary pieces until proven otherwise  I like Jordan Love. Always have. I wanted to draft him but he isn’t a superstar.  CJ Stroud hasn’t been much better than Bryce after his rookie season. After that Bears game year 2 his numbers very similar to Bryce I will say I think Drake Maye is well on his way to becoming the next top tier QB if I had to pick one from this entire list. I’d also say Baker Mayfield is a damn good QB and I’d take him over most of those guys not in the elite category  Now if you want to debate tools and which QB’s possess tools to put them in higher tiers that’s a completely different discussion. Most QB’s on your main list all have those physical tools that will keep you thinking he’ll become the next top tier QB. They’ll sprinkle in a “wow” play or two a game. Bryce will never look that way. Young’s game at its peak will physically always look different and I think that’s where most people struggle when it comes to seeing how Young’s can be successful in the league  All QB’s need a team around them. I think the Bills are failing Josh Allen much like the Panthers did Cam. Beane and McDermott using same blueprint with Bills team. Josh Allen hasn’t had much in terms of WR’s and it’s ultimately costing them when it matters the most
