It's always nice to see stories like this and in other news the rich get richer.

The Canes defense is stacked from the main roster, through the minors, and even into the junior ranks with some of their draft picks.

Dougie Hamilton, Jaccob Slavin, Calvin de Haan, Justin Faulk, Brett Pesce, Trevor Van Riemsdyk, and Haydn Fleury complete a very talented group at the NHL level. 

Michal Cajkovsky, Roland McKeown, Jake Bean, Trevor Carrick, Dan Renouf, Michael Fora, Josiah Didier, and Josh Wesley makeup the group at the AHL and ECHL level. Not to mention guys that are strictly Checkers property in Dennis Robertson, Patrick McCarron, Matt Finn (PTO), Trevor Owens (PTO), Travis Howe (PTO), and Akim Aliu (PTO).

And finally, Adam Fox, Luke Martin, Brendan De Jong, Jesper Sellgren, and Ville Rasanen in juniors.

The Canes are going to lose some good players just to the numbers game if they don't make any trades.
