We haven't had a good ST coach in a while (DeHaven had a good rep but was older, semi-retired and then not healthy).

We might actually have one now, probably the first time that can be said under Rivera.

Special teams have been solid, but we had a ball bounce off the leg of a Giants player, and our field goal kicker made a 63 yarder.  Not sure I can give the coach credit for that.

Guys still have to be coached to be aware when opportunities present themselves.

I'll put it this way.  I wouldn't go back to Richard Rodgers.

Agreed, but if our ST coach can coach a guy on how to kick a 63 yard fg, then he is the greatest st coach of all time

Well, coaching kickers is part of what they do. Gano's not exactly a rookie, though.

If Gano is overall more consistent for the full season though, you have to give at least a little credit to Blackburn and Heath Farwell.
