My biggest issue with the 2018 team - the Front 4/Washington

but it has nothing to do with the fact that our DL isn't getting the job needed done.  Hell, even Washington acknowledge the coverage has allowed the the DL to get many of their sacks.  

Eye ball test says the DL.....is too consistently "almost" getting there.  They simply aren't at this point in the season as our team needs and depends upon.   

I wasn't a fan of Wilks' approach.  He left the DBs out to try.  Washington needs to get better though in dialing up pressure though that can get home IMO.  

The fact he is taking ol man Peppers off his situational/snap count so early in the season says a lot IMO.  Says they know they have a problem.

Think those numbers I cited were before this weeks numbers hit.  

we were on pace for 36 sacks on the year 4 games in.  Which isn't up to par.  

They logged 3 this week and now Washington is talking about taking Pep off his snap count and playing him more because he needs him.  To me that is a bad sign this early.   Over using Peppers at his age will just make his less effective and not the weapon he could be. 

I don't know, something about the big picture of our front just has been lacklaster to me.  Hasn't been what I thought.  OL is overachieving and DL is underachieving on the year IMO when I watch.  

but maybe that is the booze impacting my gameday eyes.  Been wrong before

Nah, you're right.  The defensive line is underachieving.  I'm just not sure how drastic it is. 

Personally, LIS, I thought they got good pressure in the Redskins game.  Smith was just getting the ball out quick and they were hurting us when we did blitz.  It was just a good game-plan by them.  It's also something the linebackers need to fix up, which hasn't been strong for us this year as it usually is.  A lot of those quick-hitters are because the LBs are out of position.
