We'll learn about whether Rivera can put the fire back under a team this week or not. We played like the Pittsburgh loss had broken our collective heart.

Good coaches can bring a team back from this.

He can't, Rivera had 10 days to get the team ready after they got embarrassed in Pittsburgh and he failed. Majority of the team came out flat, coaches failed to put guys in the right positions and 1000 little shitty plays/lack of individual effort caused us to loss yet again.

It's not in my nature to give up on folks or teams.

The Rivera situation is tough, because with him we know what we are getting and usually will be competitive with a shot at the playoffs. I think he is honestly in the 8-12 range in terms of coach rankings in the NFL currently, which is why I'd be wary of firing him because good lord it could get A LOT worse. His biggest weaknesses are loyalty to vets who don't deserve playing time and apparent poor ability to get a team ready to play after time off.

The positives to moving on would be that a new coach wouldn't be rebuilding, they would have all of the pieces of a competitive team already which would relieve a ton of those first year coach yips. I dunno, it's tough...and I like comfort so I'm for keeping him unless we go 8-8 or worse or some perfect candidate comes along.
