thank god this is the last one for us, these 4pm games suck. I agree it doesn't make any sense for 2 eastern teams to play at 4.

Too many eastern teams playing each other to put them all on at 1. It comes down to simple math. They can't show 13 games at 1 pm and 1 game at 4pm. One or two eastern teams have to be moved to the 4 pm slot or there wouldn't be enough of a distribution to broadcast a doubleheader. It happened last week with Buffalo and the Jets. Our game against the Saints in a couple of weeks is at 4:05. One year I remember playing a 4:00 pm home game against the Falcons.

It is all dictated by broadcasting and the need to have enough games on at both time slots to offer doubleheaders.
