Would you draft this guy?

Give me a pass rusher in this deep pass rusher draft.. The best OT will be gone before our pick .. A good pass rusher will fall to us because it's a deep position this year.. Take advantage of what the draft is offering you.

I would rather see LT C RT since we suck at all 3 after Daryl goes away— and he is going away 75% imo. He will get overpaid, and we have peanuts to spend.

Short could be trade bait— so if that were to happen and we get another 2nd,..

in that case I would be ok with LOT, DT, C ROT—

i believe there are some good DE we can FA in here that would work,..

if we draft defense then I’d love to draft a corner, then Safety and C/OG first 3 picks.

I'd rather not reach for a LT or even draft a guard in the 1st round.. When there are higher rated pass rusher available.. Which is what will happen if we stay patient.. That's just stupid.. Yes we need oline help but this draft has way better Dlinemen.. You're reaching if you go for a lower rated player to fill a position.. Especially if you also need the position where a higher rated player is..

And I'm totally against wasting 1st round picks on OG... So that conversation is null and void to me..

Next you will be saying “you have failed this city” ha.

no one said draft a guard in the 1st round, such is the extreme bias to what people want around here that you and others skim read too much and answer back with no comprehension.

Honestly Hurney has always been best player available so that could very well be a receiver, corner, DE, OT— but he also jumps picks a lot to get a guy that’s BPA and a need.

if that ends up being an outside linebacker or DE then groovy,.. no complaints from me.

however if it ends up being a LT, that’s even better because we need a real one.

2nd pick the same, but a Right Tackle would be nice or a Center.

3rd pick the same but either of those not drafted would be great.

just saying a LT, RT, and Center would make much more of an impact immediately than anything else.

if it ends up being a DE, OLB, Safety, Corner or wide receiver I will still say groovy instead of losing my poo.

Either way we only get to watch anyway—

that is all

And again I disagree.. If you add a pass rush to this defense it would be a bigger impact.. I think the Oline while already being injured and mismatched all season.. Played better than the underperforming Dline that was healthy for most of the season..

So plain and simple we just disagree..

    • In your opinion. What do you think Moton's true value in contract, dollars and guarantees? If we had not extended him, what is your plan for RT in 27 and 28? How important are good offensive linemen for our current offense? How much value do you put on protecting Bryce at this stage of his career? How difficult in general do you think finding above average tackles in the NFL is?
    • The Falcons have 2 significant offensive line injuries to start the 2025 season. Right tackle Kaleb Mcgary (who is the blindside protector for Penix since he is left-handed) is going to miss significant time, and it's looking more like it may be all season. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/falcons-expect-kaleb-mcgary-to-miss-significant-time https://x.com/BKsquared7/status/1959285822236107013. Also, the top backup and swing tackle, Storm Norton (cool name BTW) is having ankle surgery and may miss half the season. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/falcons-ot-storm-norton-out-6-8-weeks-after-ankle-surgery I don't root for injuries, but its also hard to be too sympathetic given how badly injuries have hit us in recent years. We definitely need to get that W in week 3 for our home opener at BOA. Despite our collective frustration at not being able to attend TC and then having boring preseason games, ultimately the most important objective of the preseason is to enter Week1 healthy, and we have at least done that. Hopefully the depth we think we have at Oline either shines through or isn't needed. Many other teams are in a bad spot with their offensive lines before the season even starts. For once, we aren't in that situation.
    • That roster was billed as a super smart and strong unit for a young QB….until he sucked though.   it didn’t have superstars but it had proven vets that checked well all the safe boxes and it was universally agreed the Panthers were putting him into position to succeed. BY just doesn’t fit a traditional O because he isn’t built like a traditional QB.  And he still doesn’t.   CJ Stroud would have had more success here than Bryce with that cast.   CJ just has the tools that fit the NFL more easily.  Young can find success but I have always argued it would take a Bryce centric plan (which we have never attempted IMO)
