And I gave specific details of why he shouldn’t be. Not some random argument to be contrarian. By your own admission, you don’t know anybody involved. So that’s why I said I was wasting time with you.

Sort of like when you told me how wrong I was about Matt Kalils contract. How did that turn out?

I do know people involved, but I'm not privy to all of their college tape (neither are you), I'm not in the interview rooms (neither are you), I'm not able to talk to their coaches (neither are you), and I'm not going to sit here and act like I know where any of these players are located on the Panthers big board....just like you.

It looks to me that scouts and coaches alike are being wowed by Bradbury.  I'm fine with taking him at 16 if he is the highest graded player on our board at that time.  I am also OK with leaving him right there, if we have a higher rated player.  I'm not a cheerleader for any of these players, nor have I said who I want or don't want.

Now, back to your "details" can you please provide those again?  I saw a lot of opinions, but very little detail.  Please quote where you have broken those down.

As to Matt Kalil, I have no idea what you are talking about.

What am I going to “break down” for something ne who has no clue about the players involved. Not even enough to form an opinion. Just wanted to say take him if he’s good. Brilliant contribution. If he’s the best player take him. Did you come up with these all by yourself. Any other cliches you want to throw out?

There’s tape on every player online. Not hard to scout anyone. You prop up Nelson, but ignore busts like Cooper, Warmack and Can Erving. Ragnow and Price have struggled. Drafting an G/C isnt safer..

And if a rookie DE performs at a probowl level those 4 years he could provide 50M in value.

A rookie C performs at a probowl level those 4 years, he could provide 30M in value.

Everything is under consideration when choosing players. Positional value is definitely one of them. And should be. Your “groundbreaking” stance of drafting the best player is eye-opening though.  Ever thought about taking the best player before.

Jesus F man.  You quoted me first, in this thread.  This thread...about a player....that I said I would be fine with taking, so long as he is the highest rated player on your board at that time.

Nothing more, nothing less, but you continue to try to get me to say who I would and wouldn't draft over said player.  It's March 4, no team has finished their grading at this time but you have?  How many of those boards do you have access to?  I don't have any.

Nor do I have time to go through and watch hundreds of prospects on You Tube.

Why the fug did you quote me in the first place?

You were proclaiming taking a C over a DE with no context. Nothing more. You just wanted to act like you had same different theory and tell us all about it. When it was the most basic principle there is. After that it was just what level of ignorance you wanted to exist in. If you’re going to tell people how to think, do some research first.

You really want to re-hash the thread about Matt Kalils contract where you JFCed everyone and we’re proven completely wrong. Only to never respond. Kind of like you are doing here.

No, I didn't.  I responded that I would absolutely draft a Center over a DE if I had the C graded higher.  You don't like that opinion, and that's fantastic, but I don't really give two shits.  I didn't name a single player in this thread outside of Bradbury, nor did I compare him to anyone...mostly because it's a waste of my time...much like typing this response.

I'll let you in on a little secret about my posting history.  You will likely see that I only post between the hours of 9 and 5, and almost never on Sundays.  I'll give you a hint on what that means....it's when I'm at work.  I have probably posted 10 times in the past 3 years outside of my work schedule.  So please forgive me if I don't continue to go back and forth with you after 5 PM, I'm likely doing something that is much more enjoyable to me than typing.

Again, I don't know you, or remember posting with you on a Kalil contract, but I'm sure I did since it seems to be seared in your brain.

You don’t care but just HAD to defend that position by bringing up how you like Nelson last year. But you didn’t care. Right?

If it’s a waste of your time, and you admittedly don’t know much, just stay out of it if it’s so wasteful.

And drafting an inferior player, just because he’s the top C,(if he even is) over a better player at a deeper position, will get you burnt just as quick.

That was your first words to me after my initial post, why did you even spout off that nonsense?  I said nothing about another player, I didn't quote you, I didn't compare Bradbury to Sweat or Gary or Bosa, or anyone else.

I said I'm not scared of drafting a center in the first round.  Nor am I scared of a Safety.  Nor am I scared of a Guard.  Why are you continuing to follow me around this thread like a damn puppy.

Oh, it's a little past 5, I'll be packing up now, and unless you continue to follow me around again, I will not be speaking back to you until at the very earliest 10am tomorrow...and hopefully not at all.

Darius Leonard was Defensive Rookie of the year with a 2nd round. What special quality is it that we can’t find in anyone else. And which ROLBs make more? And how do we even have one with just two LBs while playing mainly nickel?

If he doesn’t play well you threw away 9M to find out what you should have already known. He’s not worth it. And that money could have helped with acquiring a player at a position of greater need. We already have 17M+ going towards Luke.

Let’s not even get into the what if about a 3-4 switch. Where does he play then? The ILB that comes off the field in Nickel? Or will the blame fall on the scheme, or coach, or whoever turn it is.

Last comment I want to make about this, if we get rid of him we are creating another hole on our starting roster, tbh hes been in the system for 4 years now and that is worth something. I agree he shouldnt match up with quick speedy recievers in the slot but he hasnt been that bad against TE and is a decent pass rusher. Hes had some extremely good games in his career and I think he can put it all together with Rivera calling the plays helping everyone be in the right spot. Game 7 last year he had 13 tackles and played a small % of the snaps. The other thing is unless we are forced to draft a olb in the draft as our pass rusher in the first I think this whole 3-4 thing is overblown. I think if all goes well we will see mostly nickel this year!

I could also be biased because I want a pass rusher at 1 and one of these amazing FS in the 2nd that usually wouldnt make it there. I dont want to have to worry about drafting a LB this year!

Doesn’t have to involve draft picks. I can sign a similar player for half that 9.2M. Or sign a FA DE(Preston Smith) for similar money and have a spot open to pick a LB. Or sign Paradis or Morse and not need a G and a C. Again Similar salaries to players that have outperformed Shaq. I’d give Carter and Smith a shot. We can slide Reid down where he belongs(at LB) on passing downs. They can handle the other snaps.

I’ve been through all the scenarios. I know cutting someone creates a hole. Keeping an overpriced player creates a void in the salary cap. Something this organization has had a real problem with for a long time. The amount of wasted money to subpar players is baffling.

Yep. In response to “drafting a DE4 over the top C will get you burned” by you. Something, that with no context, and your ignorance couldn’t even be explained. Just a “I don’t k now the players” comment. And.....

You keep quoting me. I’m conversing with several others. In this thread. And others. But I’m following you around? Sure. Maybe your Mom’s basement will get the internet soon so you don’t have to use McDonalds WiFi.

Well we have already exercised his option and my big thing is good DEs cost more in the 14mil range, would really like one on a rookie contract. To your point of reed as well if we draft a ready to go FS reed will be able to come down into the box and play the run and short game anyway. Guys like adderly thompson thornhill and gardner jr I believe are all capable of playing single high. In FA I would like a veteran center and draft a center with our 3a pick. Been nice having a convo with you without the attacking of each other I see on here daily. Ttyl

That’s why I suggested Preston Smith. Should be in the 10-11/yr range. His first year would actually be less than 9.2M for Shaq. And we get to keep him if he’s good. Unlike Shaq. And we would still need to draft one even if we signed one. There is a ton of FS available, which is why locking up Reid was ignorant. Much cheaper than DEs. With all our needs, he’s a luxury we can’t afford.
