Hybrid defensive fronts.

Sapp is a hall of fame 4-3 DT who was not a decent 3-4 DE. Fit does matter.

In typical huddle fashion things get exaggerated due to being repeated over and over. Poe wasnt as terrible as the echoes will lead you to believe.

I agree and have always thought WHY the fug not be a hybrid defense? People keep saying PERSONNEL but all you need is designated pass rushers. Why not run 3-4 4-3 and hybrid dime and nickel packages. Theres not many stringent rules on how you line up on defense. We have some hog mollies at DT who can have Short, Poe, Butler out there with 2 other blitzing pass rushers. 

We are almost one or two players away from being able to do that. Imagine if we had Clowney who can play a 4-3 edge... or stand up and pass rush.. the only player we have who can do that is Addison. Sucks we don't have peppers for one more year who can do it all as well. 

 

If we locked down another safety I and draft another young CB we have that Gucci. Need to focus on the pass rushers If we are switching. Sucks we didn't get Honey Badger or a hybrid type safety. Ron could do some nasty stuff with these hybrid players.
