And I didn’t see it. Just a guess from experience with them.

College success will not drive more marketing demand, NFL success will. Same with NFL demand, the only impact that would have would be his health. The results of a consensus(and this may be debatable at this point) top 10 pick returning to school are typically not the best. It's one less year of an already short average career that you didn't spend adjusting and adapting to the NFL.

The insurance policies for someone like Tua would be in the low seven figure range(typically) and collecting on those policies can be challenging, much like any large insurance claim.  Banking on an insurance policy is a poor substitute for a guaranteed contract that a first round draft pick receives. McCaffery, as a #8 overall pick ended up banking $17,241,304 from his fully guaranteed contract as a #8 overall draft pick. Those figures typically rise each year and with the spot taken. So, again, why would you pass on that kind of opportunity? Even with tax implications that kind of money should allow you to live comfortably for the rest of your life.

If Tua decides to return, that is his prerogative, but it would not make it any less of a foolish decision.

Wow. But it’s about what i  expected.

I’m an Auburn fan and I think Derek Brown is crazy for playing today.

I can understand the decision either way on a bowl game. For me personally, I wouldn't be playing in the Outback Bowl. Really not that much to gain even if you do win but these kids are competitors too, so they probably want that last college experience.

Definitely hope they stay healthy.

I respect his decision, but if it’s my son I would strongly suggest sitting out. I’m really only talking the 1st round locks(maybe 20-25 players)

After that you could probably help your stock a little.

Just can’t get Jaylon Smith out of my mind. And watching Joey Boss get himself kicked out because he wanted off that field immediately.

    • Best thread of the offseason. 10/10
    • Yes we are weak at 2C,  I wouldnt say C overall just we have Aho and then 3 guys who should be third Cs.....   If we dont aquire someone I suspect we will finally see Jarvis at center this year.   I see what you mean with Freddie, and I agree to an extent I think we should limit his regular season starts and focus on keeping him healthy for the playoffs.    He has been very good in the post season contrary to what some casuals think we DID not lose because of Freddie....  2.02 GAA and a .907 %  We lost to florida because our small offensive D men couldn't keep the Panthers from parking right in front of him.
    • In theory that would be nice, but i can almost guarantee you no one who will be an upgrade will be available.... much less a "stud"  This is a list of goalies who are free agents in 2026 aka possibly be sold at the deadline..... the only one I see that might help us is a retread in Ned.... (honestly should have never gotten rid of him hes performed admirably in much worse situations since leaving).
