My Assessment...

The last drive came to down to uninspired play calling ...something Rhule and Brady have consistently messed up this year.

I actually like that third down sack because it all but sealed the fact that the team will be going big on the offensive line this offseason. I keep saying that this is all they need to build on to have a very good offense for several years.

Good game. These guys battle. They will be scary next year And going forward...

Coaches will not be as bumbling at end of games, CNC will be back, offensive line retooled, and an improved defense. Look out. Oh...

Teddy is legit. Imagine why he will do with even moderate pass protection. There should be no more complainers now.

Glad you got faith in the team.  It was a good game.

This team is building the right way. They got the steal of the free agent market in Teddy, and then went on to get Chinn and Brown. My guess is they get two to three stellar pass protection linemen. This will make a gigantic difference in the offense. Defense will continue to grow. Next year will see major improvements and then year three the machine will be oiled and ready to roar.

I’m hesitant to comment to strongly without rewatching the game but that’s not possible for me right now.

As for the last drive I believe we had 2 choices to make. Assemble a drive that got us a score( preferably the go ahead TD) or put together a drive that ate clock and score. Clearly we chose for the latter and that gamble came back and bit us to degree.

I can understand why they didn’t want Brees having the ball back but, it’s also very tough to methodically eat 7 minutes of clock and score as time expires. We successfully chewed clock up but lost due to the fact that we didn’t get a TD.

I thought we should have been more concerned about scoring a TD no matter how fast we did it, but even then we could still face a situation like we did to end the first half and eventually lost anyway.

Still, I’m pleased overall by what we’re seeing by guys who on paper shouldn’t be this competitive.

As for Bridgewater. It’s clear he’s not elite but playing the cards we were dealt, he has 100% proved that signing him was the right decision.

Sounds about right
