Those two young QBs have a BUILT IN fan base in NC.

Built in fan bases are pretty irrelevant outside of the first season.

Any good QB will quickly have a fan base no matter where he comes from. A bad QB will lose his local fan base just as quickly.

If he's better than Teddy is he a bad QB?

Younger, faster, bigger, more upside, 1st rounder.

Teddy was a first rounder.

Most don't pan out.

He has a better chance of being Josh Rosen than Aaron Rodgers. Its a risk.

I can't understand why his own hometown doesn't seem to have his back?!

Oh yes, Charlotte, "It doesn't matter where you come from as long as you ball out"

Yeah but look at the guys that live here

Teddy was a MUCH bigger risk with MUCH less upside and no home crowd advantage.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
