Negatives---- we absolutely SUCK defending the run. and the Dolphins hardly ever pass. Thomas davis will be surely missed Thursday night. Also, the O-line will have a test against Joey Porter and Jason Taylor rushing in with our shuffled players.

Positives--- While the Dolphins are great against the run, their pass defense is less than stellar. And as long as Jake can control the ball, we have a very good chance to pull this one out. The Pass Defense is on point.

Outcome. Panthers win their second straight and pull to 5-5 as Jake Delhomme throws 2 TDs and 0 ints. 27-17.

Miami is throwing a lot more since Henne took over. He is certainly no Pennington, and thats a bad thing.

Are you smack talking us now? I find that insulting. :P :p

Seeing that he is just stating facts, he's not talking smack.

ronnie is hurt, so is smith for you guys no? so we will both be one-dimensional.

i take the dolphins #5 run defense over the panthers #23 run defense in this one :)

No one knows what's up with Smitty yet. He was definately hurt today during the first half b/c he wasn't his self in the second half. If the game was next Sunday, I would expect him to be closer to 100% than to 50%.

But since the game is Thursday, who knows. He may not play.

I prefer him to be healthy when we play the 'Phins. I want us to face teams that has pretty much all of their starters healthy. Otherwise, it make us look better than we really are playing against some backups.

Panther are missing enough starters themselves.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
