Carolina is 2-12 in the division since 2019.

Atlanta was last in the division last year.

When someone says that they are last in the division, that is what they mean. Last in the division.  Not discounting non-division games across a 2 year period.

Why do you redefine division standing to make us look worse?

I get the sense you are dragging in a feud from a previous disussion. My opinion is that Atlanta was not worse than Carolina last year. If anything we were neck and neck. Despite them having a higher draft pick than us we still split with them and we got swept by the Saints and Bucs. I guess we were a hair better than the lowly Falcons. Yay?

You said we were dead last in the division.

I corrected you.

That was it.

We both know it's spite. The least we can do is be honest this is an anonymous chat. The point of the post which you glossed over was to stop popping champagne bottles over having a top offensive skill player while we are playing musical chairs with the bottom team in our division. Not everyone is satisfied with fawning over the highest paid running back while watching the team falter each season. It's all hands on deck for '21.

Indeed. Hopefully they do better than their win percentage of .313 in both '19 and '20.

We get it.  The implosion of 2019 and the 1st year of rebuild 2020, we weren't good, with only 5 wins each.

Its good you're here to remind us.

I mean, talking about better between the 2020 Panthers and Falcons is basically a sinking and floating turds discussion.

Even being "better" than the Falcons isn't much consolation.

Well the good news is there is nowhere to go but up. Still waiting for that left tackle though...

Yep. Both teams had only 3 wins by week 10. By stroke of luck or a little tanking sprinkled in they finished on a 5 game losing streak and outdueled us for worst. I guess that's a silver lining if you are that hard up for a little optimism 😂

Our division futility is pretty rough. This has been one of the darkest periods in franchise history, without a doubt.

    • Assuming Mann is back I’d go ahead and move Green and the first rounder from PHX for a starting center. I prefer Okogie to Green anyway.
    • Been here since the Coliseum days. Hornets were the first pro team I ever rooted for. If they're ever going to get out of the gutter they have to establish a culture. They are trying to do that. I have no idea if it will be successful but it's a start.
    • I don’t think I'd go that far but there is definitely legitimate reason to ask how much he actually values winning and being great as a basketball player. He is very easily distracted with off the court stuff. This has been a public criticism of people like LeBron James with some of the newer generations of "stars". And it is 1000% valid and needed to be said. All I can say is I hope this is the year. If it is it will be apparent fairly early on. But I get the sense if the same themes continue as the upcoming season progresses the FO could look to move him before the trade deadline. It would suck for a multitude of reasons and I don't want to see it happen but if it did it would be on LaMelo and LaMelo alone because they've given him the keys and are finally putting pieces around him. If he wants to be a great basketball player and win he will be here and do what is necessary for the team to be successful. If not well....
