Sam Darnold

Watched the game today.  My opinion is Dallas is a good team, they played at home, and played a great game. Carolina didn't play such a great game--although it wasn't awful. They were within 1 score when the game ended. I guess I was just a little surprised at the huge holes Dallas was making in the Carolina D line. What did they rush for like 220yds?

Anyway I am not a huge NFL fan. I follow college football here in California.  USC UCLA etc. I dropped by your board to see your posts and IMO , I really feel bad for Sam Darnold.  I am not saying Sam Darnold is the next Tom Brady. Sam Darnold is a average -maybe a little bit better than average QB. That's not all that bad. Remember the Ravens won the superbowl with  Trent Dilfer in 2000.  Poor Sam.  For some reason , no matter where he goes, he is expected to overcome poor OL play, poor play calling, (when he was in NY) not having any talent around him...and the expectations are if he doesn't elevate this group of mediocre football players to the 1978 Pittsburgh Steelers level, well he is a bust.  I have never seen anyone with such hih expectations hung on them.  When the Jets or The Panthers win, well Sam did a good job but so di the WR's and Deense and so on....whenthey lsoe,  well that's because Sam is a idiot. a Bust. get rid of him.  a game manager at best.  I am not sure why everyone expects him to carry an entire crappy football team to a super bowl by himself and if he doesn't, well he is a overrated bust?

Kinda asking alot.   And you guys are treating him the same as the Jets fans did.  HIs stats today were good. Not great, but good...and what do I see? yeah but he had an INT. We lost though. He is not the answer. I just don't like him.  How many people are discussing the HORRIBLE play by the panthers defense today?  a few. But those comments are  shut down as  "excises for how bad sam darnold is."

If you think it's so easy to go out and win a football game, have at it and give it a shot.

    • This won't be a trap game for them. I worry more for the next time we face Atlanta. That's a death trap game if we aren't careful.
    • Luckily, we've got more games ahead to watch and see what happens. Maybe he keeps growing his game, maybe we see that he's topped out when we hit stiffer competition. Or maybe he flames out against a team he should well be able to beat like the Jets this weekend. I really can't tell where all of this will end. I can say, though, there's no reason to hit the kid at the moment. Let him roll for as long as he can.  Heck, Sam Darnold is setting the league on fire right now, along with Baker Mayfield and Daniel Jones. Examples of guys mired in bad coaching on bad teams (sometimes our own) that hit their stride just as a team did. Maybe we're about to get lucky.  I do know one thing. The biggest change in a winning Bryce and a losing Bryce is that when he plays fearlessly, he is a hell of a competitor. When he gets scared, and he has so many times, it all just falls apart for him and no team can save him. Bravery makes the difference and it comes from believing in not just himself, but his line, his receivers, his running back and the play calling. Just like most young QBs. And quite a few of the old ones. Rodgers couldn't make it in the chaos of the Jets situation. He can in Pittsburgh, so it seems.
    • That’s what I thought too. Maybe I interpreted it wrong. I was considering maybe taking a last minute trip but I think I’ll pass
