Funny...... Remember 2 years ago........

You should also mention AK, that you were upset over the Stewart pick last year because you didn't want him taking away carries from Williams. You continuously bashed Stewart through out the whole offseason last year while sucking off Williams.

I was more pissed off because we didnt draft a DE or DT WHEN WE NEEDED ONE.

Stewart is a good guy, but he STILL isnt cracked up to be what everyone tries to make him.

At first Williams was not all that great, watch the tape. He took the ball, found the first hole and blasted forward, almost no side to side movement, cutbacks or hesitation at all. Now he has learned patience, and makes decisions when he runs...he has IMO perfected the TB position, if you see him take a loss its always due to missed blocks, always. Something Williams always had was a resilience to fumble to ball which was a refreshing change from Foster...

now some of this is just a BS :icon_bs:

Everyone used to BLAST williams for cutting back "all the time". All you would hear is; "why cant he just hit the hole and not try to be Barry Sanders"?

Williams was great when he was drafted (other than pass blocking)- you dont do what he did in college without being GREAT

From what I remember, most people said that Williams was a good player, but wasn't quite ready yet. And they were right. At that time, he wasn't. But he has developed into one of the best.

There were quite a few people who were really optimistic about Williams.

You just wouldn't know it, since they don't make threads every week about how they were right.

Sorry AK, but I bet 70% of this forum was eager about Williams getting his shot and thought he'd be a good player.

and this matters because.........?

Because I am showing the pure ignorance that gets spewed around this board from time to time.

In reality a lot of folks on here have no damn idea what they are talking about.

The fact is, there are some smart football people on here, but the masses and "majority of post" on here are from pure emotion and ignorance...

2 years ago people were calling Williams garbage, and now look at what he has done since.

Kinda puts the "blog/forum world" into perspective...

The funniest part about this AK is that you act as if you were alone in calling for Williams.

There was a great deal of us harping for him right beside you.

your right. I didnt say I was alone. I just said I got bashed a lot....

You have always been a Williams "backer". I wasent alone.

Are you just trying to prove my point about you being immature?

if maturity is weighed by someone's ability to not give neg rep, well- the writing is on the wall to me.

Its just Neg rep, and people deserve it sometimes. There is no magic prize for not neg repping folks. Some people are idiots and deserve neg rep at times. iNCLUDING myself :ihih:

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
