Our "QB"

Phil Dees

I also noticed who's Number 1. All of these, "Favre will be out of gas by the time he comes here", talkers better rethink that.

I'll admit, I was one of those guys.

I hate Favre (or is that simply the media's obsession with anything relating to No. 4?). Still, that man is playing at an insanely high level. If we don't shore up our run defense, the game against Minnesota could turn embarassing.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a QB that had 21 TD's and 3 Int's ?

I see there are 4 QB's with over 20 TD's (another with 19), and all of them with less than double digit Int's.

And I even read on this board today where somone said "Jake finally starting to play ok."

It just goes back to expectations.

Many of us don't even entertain the notion of having someone like Favre, Manning, Brady or Brees here.

We simply want a game manager who's not going to turn the ball over, and a coaching staff who won't encourage him to do so.

This^^^^ mentality predates Fox's tenure here and is a microcosm of our franchise. Not wanting to be "great" but feeling comfortable & secure with "average".

    • You are right. At the same time I don’t think people are watching games going come on Bryce put it on the ground or sail it OB or whatever. They just have trouble seeing him turning his 3 or four or five top games of 2025 into the weekly standard outing. Which you expect for the kind of money he will ask for (speaking for myself anyway).
    • In terms of comparing Pickett and Young's arm talent it's basically a push at best. Pickett is sitting at 6.2 yards per pass attempt for his career while Bryce sits at 6.0 Last season Bryce was 6.3 in yards per pass attempt. Only Justin Fields Spencer Rattler (both 6.2) Kyler Murray (6.0) 41 year old Joe Flacco (6.0) 44 year old Phillip Rivers (5.9) rookie Cam Ward (5.9) and Tyrod Taylor (5.8) had less pass yards per attempt than Bryce Young in his third season as a starter. Folks going around acting as if it is beyond the pale to say Pickett might have a better arm than Young are living in an alternate reality. You can choose to not believe your own eyes after 46 games but everyone else will acknowledge reality and move forward accordingly.
