I don't think Fox is a "bad" coach, I just think things have gotten stale here. I also don't think Cowher is our savior, he went through allot of the same kind of mediocrity in Pittsburgh... then he went and got himself a QB.

The thing I like about Cowher is his intensity. I would love to see our team display more competitive fire and intensity. Fox is a poker-face kind of guy and so is this team with the exception of a few individuals (Delhomme, Beason and Smith come to mind). The Steelers always displayed this intensity under Cowher's leadership. They didn't always win but they did play with high intensity and focus.

Cowher went through the same mediocrity?? In Cowher’s 15 seasons, the Steelers captured eight division titles, earned ten postseason playoff berths, played in 21 playoff games, advanced to six AFC Championship games and made two Super Bowl appearances. He is one of only six coaches in NFL history to claim at least seven division titles and Cowher is only the second coach in NFL history to lead his team to the playoffs in each of his first six seasons as head coach, joining Pro Football Hall of Fame member Paul Brown.

Cowher may not be our savior but Fox isn't close to being in his class.

his inconsistency is his problem.

all fox has shown me is that when he plays an easy schedule, he can get the team to the playoffs, but as soon as he plays a challenging one, he can do nothing more than be mediocre. he has not put together back to back winning seasons his entire tenure here in carolina, and that just shows me that he isn't all that great. his ultra conservative play seems to hurt the panthers more often then it helps them. i personally want a change next year.
