what former Panther do you wish had succeeded while in Carolina?

title says it all, who do did you have expectations for that never reached those expectations?

for me its Drew Carter...it seemed like he had the rare combination of size and speed that doesn't come around much in the NFL...every year i thought was going to be his break out year, but he seemed to consistently regress

Eric Shelton is a close second, although he never really showed any signs of potential, coming out of Louisville, he seemed to be our power back of the future

just thought we could use a distraction from nick names and playoff seedings!

Dan Morgan

Guy was the ultimate career tease, he could have been a GREAT player, a top 3 MLB. He set a super bowl record for most tackles in a game. But alas, he would get injured every season, and will soon be forgotten even though I believe he could have had a HOF career.

sucks

No Kerry Collins was a douche.

I had high hopes for Drew Carter, like everyone it always seemed like he was about to break out.

Deshaun Foster, everyone gives the dude such a hard time, but he was a true team player, he did everything asked of him, never complained and mentored Deangelo no questions asked. After 03 I really thought he had something. I thought him and D.Will were gonna be what D.Will and Stewart are now back then.

and as much as it pains me to say this, David Carr, I still knew Jake was the man here, but I wanted him to succeed after being wrecked in Huston, but obviously that was not the case, dude just flat out sucked.

    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
    • Don't care if they win or not.  Hire the High Point coach (go watch his post game speech) and bring Martin, Anderson, and Johnston with you. Way better than any PG we have, SF we have or shooter we have.
