NFC South Picks Challenge in 2010

I am a Bucs fan over at pewterreport.com and we run a picks challenge (4 games each week against the spread). We are considering expanding the challenge next year to include players from each of the NFC South teams. I have contacted the Falcons board and they have agreed to join in already. I am interested in getting your thoughts as well. Does your board currently do a picks challenge? How many would be interested in joining in on this competition. It will of course only be for bragging rights but we are also hoping to get a logo put together for the winner to include in his/her sig. Our challenge has been going on for quite a few years now and we have a pretty good method to calculating winners. We are also considering playing 16 week with the leader from each team's forum participating in a week 17 "playoff" to determine the winner. If a number of you are interested, we would need to have one person on your end keep track of the picks and we can all update each other weekly and post the results. Could be fun a very competitive as a large number of people will be playing. Please let me know your thoughts.

Nice to see you all are upholding the tact and intelligence you're known around the league for. Way to represent. Falcons & Saints are in and I was warned by many that Carolina fans were uncouth, not good sports and as one Falcon noted "wouldn't be able to handle the math involved". Way to prove them wrong fellas. Perhaps I'll try a different Panthers board in search of signs of intelligent life.

Make it a $100 dollar by-in each week with the weekly winner taking home half of that weeks money and the other half going to the pot for the over-all winner at the end of the year. Play-off between the best two during week 17 with a $500 dollar by-in, if you don't by-in the chance goes to the next best team. Winner of week 17 gets the pot and the $1000 dollar play-off by-in.

That would be a game worth playing. I have no desire to be involved with any scenario in which I would have to converse in any way with a Bucs, Saints, or Falcons fan if its not worth money. You guys suck too much.

I got some ATL math for you 1 DFA + 2 skanks in Miami = 6 bastard chicket toothed babies.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.
    • Start posting in threads in the other forums instead of just creating threads. No one comes over here so you aren't starting conversations.  Get your ass up to 100 posts. It's not that hard. Don't create 100 posts. Contribute to conversations.
    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
