McElroy > Tebow???

The Golden Calf of Bristol didn't play awful. The defense couldn't stop a mediocre offensive Alabama, and he had receivers dropping passes all day.

that may be so, but McElroy made the plays that needed to be made when it counted. The Golden Calf of Bristol did not. i like The Golden Calf of Bristol, and I think hes a good QB. But he was outplayed today.

I understand your frustration. But no matters whose fault it is, McElroy deserves all the credit he gets. Best QB in the game. he was great.

Today he was, and I'm not a Florida fan, so I'm not frustrated, but The Golden Calf of Bristol was not responsible for this loss. That's all I'm saying =)

But power to McElroy, he's gonna be a good one.

The Golden Calf of Bristol didn't play awful, but he also didn't play good either. Also Alabama was 13th in rushing yards and 22nd in points nationally. So running all over Flordia and scoring 32 points fits in with there averages this season. That Alambama offensive line looks really good.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
