I think the fact Godfrey was out there today starting.......only confirms your thought process. Fox is starting the guys HE WANTS TO BE "the guy who gives us the best chance to win". Not the actual guys that give us the best shot.

Fox says Moore will start next week vs. New England

December 6th, 2009, 5:09 pm · Post a Comment · posted by sreed

Panthers coach John Fox said he expects Matt Moore to start next Sunday at New England.

”I’d say there’s a good chance of that. I don’t like to back ourselves into a corner because we haven’t had a chance to celebrate this win. But I thought he did fine today,” Fox said.

Laugh all you want, I am being serious.

Expect Jake to start next week against NE.

Just giving you a heads up.

How about putting the Christmas themed pin-up Moore did not win us on the line for this.

If Jake starts no photos.

If Moore starts we get the photos.

Sounds pretty fair to me.

or Martin has the body of a peewee football player and is a liability to be ran over at any time by anyone not excluding field goal kickers

who are you talking about? Martin can he hit 10x better than Godfrey......and his coverage is 20x better. Anyone who thinks Godfrey gets the nod over Martin is either has brain damage or is named Fox.

Martin>Godfrey EASILY.

Godfrey looked OK today against a horrible team were as Martin has played great against a few average teams.

Its so simple yet Fox can never seem to figure out the simple/obvious changes.

Maybe Godfrey will end up with a broken pinky toe next game.

    • The last 8 weeks, Nix had 2,022 yards, 21 TDs, 6 INTs on 70% completions While Bryce's last 8 games he had 1,709 yards, 12 TDs (albeit adding 5 more rushing), 3 INTs on 61% completions. I'm not going to pretend I watched those Broncos games to know exactly how Nix actually looked, but in retrospect, his statistics were better.  Hell, in just his final 8 games, Nix has only 5 less TD passes than Bryce has in his 30 game (28 starts) career. And you said he had better WRs than Bryce did, but I'm not even sure that's even true either. Sutton and Thielen might be completely different types of WRs, but I'd say they are pretty equal on effectiveness if not even a slight edge to Thielen (63.6 YPG for Sutton to 61.5 for Thielen).  Then XL and Coker vs Marvin Mims and Devaughn Vale, again, at worst a push, if not lean in our favor there too. Why is it so hard for some Panthers fans to just objectively look at our team/Bryce and be honest with themselves. ? He was significantly improved the final two months of the season from his first season and a half.  But he was still a below average QB during that time, even if he had a few good throws and clutch moments.
    • The Canes physically dominated 2 of the top 16 teams in the league this calendar month. If you truly believe Florida is just that much more physical than us, then what does that say about the rest of the league? Why didn't they go 82-0 this year, if they are orders of magnitude better than every other team?
