Kudos to Godfrey

He did not adjust for the pick......it was a throw to Godfrey in no man's land. On the broken up pass.....it was vintage Godfrey being a step late and was fortunate to get a pass defended. Today's game changes nothing.......except maybe in Fox's world.....he might think he has the next Ed Reed or Troy P and might consider deactivating Martin.

you are going to get flamed by the group of Internet Tough Guys running around here today shitting on everything.

i participate in that too, so i can't really complain

...in all seriousness though he made plays. i prefer Martin as a starter, but Godfrey made the most of his chances.

watch it again, it was blatantly an adjustment. he had to lunge to his right and down onto his knees to scoop it before it hit the ground.

I see what both sides are saying. But I tend to agree that it was thrown at him, and he adjusted to make the catch.

He made a great catch on a ball thrown nowhere near ANYONE but him. That isn't great coverage or an adjustment......it was a nice catch though and cashing in on a gift.....which is a good thing.

this whole Godfrey nonsense is just like Jake's last Atlanta game....one medicore/average game doesn't erase what he is and what kind of liability he is to the team.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
