Clausen, Tate leaving Notre Dame for NFL draft

no, chad henne became the starter because of how bad mallet was.

in that huddle with him: manningham, jake long, mike hart, three players drafted into the nfl.

he was poo at michigan. it had nothing to do with the team around him being bad.

If by Henne "became the starter" you actually mean "was the starter since his freshman year and was backed-up by Mallett after his injury in the second game of his senior year against Oregon," than yes, I agree with you.

Sure, Mallett had a bad year as a true freshman starter on a team that lost to App State. But not as bad as some other people I know. At least he wasn't beaten out by Evan Sharpley...

Jimmy Clausen Compared to (Drew Brees) potential (top 3 Qb in NFL)

Very good Arm,Great Accuracy, Good Vision, Great deep ball , Great Touch

Great leader. Everything you want in a QB will Go 1 or 2 overall in draft

Golden Tate Compared to (Steve Smith) Potential (Top 10 Wr in NFL)

Very Strong Hands, good Leaping Ability, Decent Route Runner, sometimes drops the easy ones, Decent Punt returner. Will only get better still learning to be a WR . Draft Round -late first early second in a weak WR Draft

Just for Fun 2011 WR

1a A.J Green Jr 6'4 210 Comparison (Randy Moss) 40 time 4.34

1b Julio Jones Jr 6'3 230 Comparison (Andre Johnson) 40 time 4.45

1c Micheal Floyd Jr 6'3 225 Comparison (Larry Fitzgerald) 40 time 4.40

2 Arrelious Benn Sr 6'2 215 Comparison (A. Bolden) 40 time 4.52

alot of people are saying Benn will go pro this year.

i thought mallet was expected to start when they recruited him

well clausen doesn't sound like an extra from The Wire either and didn't need Petrino's magic juice to make him good.

I don't know if that's gonna change in one season though. And without Clausen and Tate, I'm not real confident the offense is gonna score a lot of points. Dayne Crist hasn't had a lot of time under center. Floyd will be back and Rudolph is a too at TE.....haven't heard if Robby Parris will be back for a 5th year but I kinda doubt it.

Without those two, I reckon the offense will take a huge hit. That's my point, if they stay, it's not the offense that the new coach has to worry about and sort out. I think a new coach would be stepping into a much better situation if they stayed, there would be less to fix for next season. But they don't know what's going to happen coach-wise, so they're bolting. Happens all the time..
