Trade Augustin????

augustin doesn't seem athletic enough to survive as a nba pg. he cannot finish inside, isn't strong enough to play any kind of post game and is basically just a weak defender and a streaky 3pt shooter. doesn't pass well either. nba pgs are too versatile and many teams play simply guards at the pg spot especially when subs are in who exploit augustin for the poor defender he is.

really bad pick. honestly don't see augustin having a long nba career.

also i don't know why nba teams continue to draft players who obviously lack strength and athleticism (morrisson comes to mind as an exremely slow weak player, also sean may was overweight and slow. felton on the other hand may not be as quick but is a strong pg). don't get me wrong, augustin is a quick guard but that's simply not enough at this level of basketball. brown and henderson seem to be the best draft we've ever had and both guys have good size and athleticism while neither are extremely weak. Brown isn't as strong as most pfs, but he's not frail.

you can't teach athleticism

If this trade is with the Knicks they'd need to get Nate Robinson or Gallinari. Doubt the Knicks would give up David Lee.

Yes, please bring in another undersized point guard. I'd take Duhon over Nate. At least we know Duhon is smart enough not to take last second three's on his own basket. He is also starting to gain some confidence. Another thing, Brown sucks when it comes to draft picks.

You gotta include TO's, esp when talking about NBA pgs.

    • forgot to include the quote: best play in panther history   Pretty great.  X Clown also. I was always real fond of Jake’s 1st play vs Jacksonville simply for his entrance into the huddle which completely woke people up. That and what they went on to do in that game was a major turning point for the franchise.IMO. Kris Jenkins’ kick xp block vs TB is a big one for me.
    • I certainly wouldn't be surprised if that happened.  We might take a shot with say a fourth rounder if there is someone the staff likes.
    • I interpreted your original reply as the team could have success if the new players and coaches were really good, AND they created an offense that didn't count on the QB being a primary contributor. Because you think Bryce won't be able to hold up his end. I think you confirm that above. My only point is that I don't see how anyone can say definitively what Bryce Young will be in the league yet, based on his supporting cast from last season. And it seems those that have already decided that Bryce Young is a bust, likely just didn't like him as the pick in the first place. A little context for me... lots of folk here didn't like Cam while he was a Panther either. It had very little to do with him as a talent. And just for the record, I really am not invested in Bryce Young. I didn't want the team to move up for a QB at all in 2023. I thought 2024 would be the year to go for a QB. But when they did, I ordered the QBs as Anthony Richardson, then CJ, then Bryce. The disfunction from the front office, to the playcalling, to the scheme, to the oline and the receivers was just not a good situation. Horrible actually. Asking a rookie to perform with all that adversity is just not realistic to me, at any position let alone QB. So to me, the verdict is still out. I don't know if he can be the guy because the situation he was in last year was set up to fail from the start. In preseason, as soon as I saw the oline couldn't figure out how to even slow down the Jets' pass rush (particularly stunts) and the receivers were locked up like Fort Knox, I knew we were in for a long season.
