Any Of You Think Riley Skinner Could Be A Good Fit Here?

I want to know who JD17 really is (other than RT81), and why he actually allows himself to waste multiple minutes of his only life making up fake threads on here. Sure, some of you rag on Fiz for being a heartless ass, and I can't stand Zod for his constant attempts at what he thinks is humor...but this 17 guy here actually comes up with fake thread ideas weekly if not daily. I don't get it.

Bored high schooler with no friends perhaps?

Fwiw, Skinner isn't a hometown boy, unless you are talking about the college he played for. He is from Jacksonville Florida.

yes I meant that cause he went to wake forest

I would take Riley Skinner in the 6th round if he was there. They are around the same size, and both of them have to rely on their accuracy since their arm strength is not that impressive. Nontheless, Riley Skinner has the advantage of mobility, I have seen him take off down the field a couple of times when nothing is available, which includes the 43 yard run against Miami and the 36 yard run against Florida State. He also has 2 rushing touchdowns on the year, and I would not be opposed to drafting him if he was sitting around in the 6th round waiting for his name to be called.

It couldn't hurt. He's a late round pick, or even an UFA. He played his college ball in NC. He's got the intangibles and he's got accuracy. At this point, I'm leaning more towards Tony Pike in the 2nd, but if we don't draft a QB high then sign a FA QB and pick up Skinner in the late rounds. Let the FA and Moore compete for the starting job in training camp, let Skinner develop for a couple seasons and then see what he's got.

he a hometown boy and pretty good qb from what I've seen of him. Would you draft him if he there when we pick?

I like him. Then again, I am a Wake Forest fan. With respect to his arm strength, I would have been in the same boat until this year. I have seen the velocity on his passes increase dramatically with his spirals tightening as well (they often go hand in hand). And for anyone doubting his accuracy... he has a collegiate career of over 65% with about half of those incompletions being on purpose when making a smart move to throw it out of bounds.

His QB rating this year was 146.99

Chris Leak>>>>>>>>>>>>Skinner.

Don't agree. Leak was surrounded by some of the best talent in college football, and Riley certainly was not. Plus Riley played in a very consevative run oriented offense in his first two years, whereas Florida was a passing team from the beginning. Skinner has a much better completion percentage and fewer interceptions with a similar number of passes. Compare their senior seasons when Wake became a more pass oriented offense. Riley had more td's, fewer int's and a better completion percentage.
