Did the Saints win it, or did the Vikings lose it?

The only reason its even a question is bc the Vikings were able to drive up and down the field at will and gave up over 400 yards of offense. Saints get all the credit in the world, but u have to be worried bc if the Saints give up over 400 yards to the Colts, no way they win.

The way I see it Farve decided to channel Delhomme for a brief moment at the end of the 4th quarter. It was quite a shocking play and I doubt you will hear about the inner voices of doubt the Saints fans were haunted by up until that moment. There was enough room for him to tuck and run for 5-7 yards, easily. That would have left a 48-50 yard FG for Longwell. Saints win the toss and the Vikings never see the ball again. Add two booth reviews (equal to a timeout each) a bizzare pass interference call and another booth review and you get a Saints victory. I give them props. The D played a great game, but in all honesty, the Saint's kicker won the game. He did what no other player on the field was able to do: end the game.

Oh, by the way, it's official, D-Will >> A.P.

The Colts don't have a running game like the Vikes, lines on either side of the ball like the Vikes, and they have not faced a team or offense like the Saints in months. Beating two mediocre teams who squeaked into the playoffs is not as impressive as taking down the Cards and Vike.

and in the end the Saints are in the superbowl...

Like I said:

It's always nice to ****** victory out of the jaws of defeat, and the Saints are going to the Superbowl because of it. Time will tell the rest of the story. Sounds like "Saint J" thinks the team has finished the hard work. I'll bet the Colts wouldn't want their running game to look anything like the Vikings'. You can't turn the ball over like that and win. It's really that simple. I'll be willing to bet Manning wouldn't have made the error Farve did when the win was on the plate. In fact, Farve may have subliminally thrown that INT on purpose because of the childhood trauma he endured being a young Saints fan.:D The stars finally all lined up. Sometimes the universe takes it's own sweet time.

farve had the best TD/INT ratio in the league

And that is why:

It was totally out of character for Favre and the Saints received a gift that their kicker opened up with that 40 yard boot. Enjoy it, but don't expect a Panther's fan to sugar coat it for you. You are plenty capable to do it for yourself. Now there is one game left to play and you don't need a Panther's fan to explain to you that without that win, the NFC Championship ain't really all that different than a sister kiss.

yes it doesn't matter except for the 100 threads your fellow fans have started in the past 24 hours

Yes...you're right....the Saints are at the center of the universe. Again...enjoy it and no fans here are going to validate it for you. It ain't gonna happen. Archie is gonna have a tough day in Miami....

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
