i grew up in the 80's. i don't remember anything extra special about him. i know he was on a bad saints team in the 80's. he and swilling were a good lb tandem, and let's not forget mills. but the guy does not deserve the hof. phil simms or richard dent were far more deserving imo.

Was he any better than Sam Mills?

Jackson was a blitzing specialist OLB so his stats look flashier than Mills'.

128 Sacks (+8 unofficial) is almost 10 sacks a season for his career. He also has a sickening amount of FRs.

Stats aren't as good as LT but not too dissimilar overall. Clear HoF'er I think.

i'm sorry, but i disagree. when i think of relly gret lb's in the 80's, he is not on the list. carl banks, swilling, tippett, wilber marshall i think were all better. but who knows.

Well I was born in 86 so all I can go on is stats. The stats look good and he was a part of the famed Dome Patrol. I don't know anything about the other guys you mentioned.
