Or maybe a player and later pick. If Cinci would be willing to trade Higgins and a 3rd or 4th this year it would be enticing. Getting Higgins would open up that 33 pick for something other than WR. Maybe a pass rusher.

Higgins isn't under contract and neither is Burns, so some oddball dual franchise-and-trade would have to happen. Would be a rather unique happening.

Did burns play under the tag last year? I felt like it was just his last year under contract so.. Franchise tag is on the table. Higgins on the other hand could also be tagged.

He played under the 5th year option. He would now be an unrestricted FA if the team doesn't tag and/or re-sign him.

  This place was a cesspool at times even through the Cam years. Even when we won the goal posts moved over and over. And Cam had one of the best rookie seasons ever at the time. I respect you for holding it down as a fan. But just remember we're all at the end of the day on equal footing with this franchise. We've all suffered through the consistent inconsistency that has now given way to one of the worst teams in all of professional sports the last few years. That is the biggest reason you are seeing what you're seeing. If the combo of Canales and BY can bring wins and respectability back for the Carolinas you'll see the feedback you seek. For the moment I think the mods here are doing the best they can given the state of the franchise. Best of luck to ya this season 👊

  Fitterer traded away the #1 overall pick because Young was supposed to be ready immediately and we’d never pick low again. Then it went from him sucking up the playbook like a sponge early on to having to limit the offense in preseason.
